Default Truck has whiplash effect?

My 2001 Ranger rides well with the exception of what feels like something heavy bouncing a couple of times after hitting a bump with the rear tires. It's more noticable when both tires hit a bump that crosses the entire lane. The front going over the bump is hardly noticable ,but the rear seems to take the bump and send it through the chassis in a greatly exaggerated way. Is there a cure for this? The truck has 98,000 miles and seems really tight other than this.

Is there a way to loosen it in the rear? I know the front has adjustment bolts. It already sits quite a bit lower in the front than the rear.

I was thinking maybe they were binding ,but didn't think both would be. The bounce or whiplash effect isn't the normal bounce that blown shocks exhibit. It's a series of quick rather short bucks after the bump. Not much after it, but definitely an effect that carries a second after the bump. I'd like for it to be shocks.

I found that with just the added weight of my toolbox the bounce is completely gone. I'm going to put new shocks all the way around and keep a little weight in the bed.

is it possible that your parking brake is hanging a little. I have seen this issue before, the tires actually skip a little if they break contact. Good luck.
