Or are Sports only 2wd and Fx4 is the 4wd version of a Sport?

Not that weird at all.......Since they axed the L2 and left the LI, it's just like the normal plain jane XLT's with two tone paint. That's what mine is(although older), mine is an equivilent to yours and other "Fx4 Off Road" models minus the '02 fx4 which is essencially a LII. Then for 08-09's, they left the level 2 specialy stuff as options for the fx4. standard they've got the 28 spline/tracloc like what you've got(optional 31spline w/ torsen), base shocks(optional ranchos), etc. You basically just mentioned that I was right. lol. The only Fx4 that I call an Fx4, is a Level II. lol. No offense.....all the other 03+ Fx4 Off Road is just an XLT to me. That might explain some of the things I say in regards to Fx4's and what they got. Don't get me started on the Sportified Fx4 2010 cdn Fx4's. lol. All LII's I've seen have 11cc. Anything else, it varies truck to truck.

I trust ya! lol....I'm not really questioning you at all....more like questioning Ford. haha. WHY is there a difference for that one model in that one country when all these trucks are built off the same production line? It just doesn't make sense to me coming from a production background....axe alot of things, yet make one little change to one model sold in one place.. Broken record here.....

Nice little convo of going back and forth...it's fun! lol. Would you be willing to get me a 2010 CDN Ranger brochure(not in french) and sent it my way? I'd love to flip through it and see the Fx4 all sportied up. lol. I'd also like to find out IF the Sport is a model up there...and if it is, is it strictly 2wd? And the 4wd version of the Sport is named Fx4?? It makes sense to me without actually looking into it. lol. I know I've said it before and others have too.....2010 CDN FX4's appear to be US 4x4 Sports with Fx4 decals on the bedside. I guess I could answer my own question by going to the Ford.ca website? lol. Onward I go... haha.
I know we're only talking about CDN '10 fx4's. lol. We agree. No there is a 4x4 Sport and XLT here as well. Thier just lower that the FX4 by 9/16" up front and just to let ya know there higher in the back as well lol. I will get solid numbers next time I go to the dealer for ya. This is what's Special ride hieght and it's getting it from some were. Going to find out.

No more two tone paint for 2010 FX4. All 2010 FX4 come with Rancho shocks, 4:10 and SPR 11CC. And maybe higher stepped torsion keys and thicker rear spring blocks. Going to find out. What your saying is based on 09- FX4 Models and you are right there I'm saying lol. But again this is a new ball game CND 2010 FX4. Don't make me quote you again lolol"No offense.....all the other 03+ Fx4 Off Road is just an XLT to me". True statement until you meet the CND 2010 FX4. No offence taken Shane, alls good.

Trust is a good thing, thanks Shane. Differances have been there before off the Ford production line example FX4 Level II, Lightning..... it just happens. I can only assome why Ford made this CND 2010 FX4 model here in Canada. So I'm going to hold off on the answer until I have the facts. As to why the ride hieght is higher.

Why did Jeep change the TJ's steering box to a Mercedes steering box in 2003? Who Knows, it just is. Some things just are lol.

Yep great conversation Shane. Yes I'd send you a brochure if you'd like (or I could fax it to you if you have a fax). Need your full address. PM me. You made this statment: "I know I've said it before and others have too.....2010 CDN FX4's appear to be US 4x4 Sports with Fx4 decals on the bedside". "Appear to be" is assoming. We need to find out Fact or Fiction (my post title) lololol. The only problem is they don't show the specs for the FX4's on the Ford.ca website or the 2010 Ranger Brochure (sure you still want it). All other models are there, go figure???? Mysterious. Geuss I gotta do it my self.

Sounds like my older brother lol. Don't get me wrong I like to have a few myself. I'm evil but he's pure evil (just add Rye). I geuss I just called your little brother and ass then lol. Shoot'n his mouth off. I took it easy on him and made it a tame reply. Compared to the first one I had written up for him lmao. Tell your brother he's invited to my poker game tomorrow night at my place, and me and the buds got something for him and it ain't a drink lol. Forum war fair gets ya no were. Entertaining as shit though.

Could be the blocks for sure. I'll see.

No probs. I'm on a mission to find out.

I found the thread on R/F that you are refering to. Some great info thanks. I believe I am going to order the pre 07- Torsion Bar Keys / Adjusters form Tasca Parts. $109.20 shipped to my door / seems to be the cheapest route. Ford Dealer here at my mech. cost was $206.00.

Once I get my old keys out of the 2010 FX4 I will deffinetly know if the ride hieght differance lies there or not. (if there the same I'll have a set for sale lol / if not they'll sit around my garage forever lol).

Thanks

Found some info at the Arnprior Dealer (got your 2010 Canadian Brochure there to Shane / I'll mail it soon).

Info: They had a new CND 2010 XLT 4x4 there and the SPR was 11CC and the rear spring blocks were 1 1/4". Just like my CND 2010 FX4. Were is this ride hieght differance coming from? I am ordering the 07 pre keys from TascaParts so, MY 2010 Keys are coming out (just like you wanted me to do lol). I'll see if the differance is there. If not we no it comes from the torsion bar keys on the Canadian FX4's are coming from the factory dialed up more than the CND 2010 XLT 4x4.

There were no CND 2010 Sport 4x4 at the Arnprior dealer (very small dealership).

But here's what I have found out about the CND 2010 Sport 4x4 (on the Ford.ca Ranger Spec Tab):

Front Spring Rating -

Sport 4x4 1,229kg (2,709lbs) / XLT 4X4 1,315kg (2,899lbs) / FX4 not listed ???

If we know that the CND 2010 FX4 and XLT have #1 Bars these spec would suggest that the CND 2010 Sport 4x4 has either B or F rated bars up front.

Rear spring rating -

Sport 4x4 1,179kg (2,599lbs) / XLT 4X4 1,179kg (2,599lbs) / FX4 not listed ???

This suggests that CND 2010 FX4, XLT and Sport 4x4's all have the CC Rated rear springs.

I am still going to go to buddys Ford dealership and look at the SPR ratings of the CND 2010 Sport 4x4 to be certain (as I don't trust all the typo error crap they put up on sites for specs lol).

Good read here guys. I just bought a 09 sport 4x4. It's a very basic truck with almost no options. I was told it had a fx4 suspension as an option. It does have skid plates and Rancho shocks and I checked the code for the rear and it is a l/s 4:10. Do you know if this was an option on the sport model without the rest of the fx4 package? Thanks!

hey did you measure the 08 FX4 in 08 or in 2011 because there is this weird thing called using a truck and it means springs sag. Most people who have a brand new truck sit a smidge taller than a 2 year old one.

Whats the verdict? I just bought a 2010 FX4 and I want to do the keys. It has the rancho shocks. Where on the vin does it tell me what I have? Does anyone use shackles for the rear for an extra 1" ?
Thanks

Dean, check out this link on how to read the door jamb sticker to find out the spring & torsion bar ratios. how to read door jam sticker... IIRC it has been stated before here that replacing the keys is a waste of money, just crank the torsion bars. Here is a link. How To: Adjust Torsion Bars
