Default bouncy ride

Hey I have a 94 xlt and the suspension is really bouncy. Is that the way all the older ones ride or will new shocks firm up the ride?
(I was thinking of installing 4 new shocks but keeping the same springs)

thanks

"Really bouncy" is hard to gauge on a forum, but the Ranger is definitely not a Cadillac. I think you're on the right track though, 16 year old shocks can definitely hinder the ride.

You ever driven a bouncy vehicle? I drove a newish Dodge Dakota and compared to my Ranger that thing was super bouncy, I remember seeing my headlight beams bouncing up and down as I drove down the freeway... granted it was a softer ride, I didn't feel like I had the same control over it.

hello. i have a 1993 xlt. i also have the bouncy ride on the highway and have replaced the shocks front and back and it still is bouncy. what can i do? also can the drivers side rear shock mount be removed and a new one put on. the nut on that side won't come off. it just keeps turning in one spot. thanks for the help. the truck has 196,00 on it.
