Spindle lift advice
Okay so here is my dilemma... My ranger is a 2002 XLT 4.0 V6 and I am looking to give it a raise. I called a place and they told me it would cost me 680 for a 3' spindle lift. Is this a wise choice? And if I do go through with it, then would I run into any problems with my suspension? Would I have to add anything to the back end? Thank you in advance.

Re: Spindle lift advice
$680 for spindles is ridiculous, brand new DOETSCH 3" spindles are like $400. Check craigslist though, I got my 3" spindles for $175...
not sure what you mean by "would I run into any problems with my suspension" so cant help you there.
and yes you should add something to the back end, unless you want some heavy rake to your truck. You can add lift shackles, an add-a-leaf, or blocks to raise the back end of the truck. Each will give you different amounts and have their own +/-. Search

Re: Spindle lift advice
Okay, and if I don't add anything to the back right away will it ride fine? Or will I run into any future issues. I am a little new to the truck world, sorry about my inexperience.. :P

it should ride about the same in the rear.. the front will be a little more stiff.. but its gunna look weird as hell...here is an example of what a 3in spindle lift, and in the rear a 4in block and a add a leaf rollin on 35s
BTW... that price is nuts.. do it your self.. its not really that hard if you have the tools and the place to do it.

If you consider looking into the sky while driving from the lean fine, than yes hahaha. Shackles/AAL are cheap so its worth doing either/or/both immediately IMO.
And no problem, this is my first truck as well. This forum will teach you a lot if your willing to research and listen

*should also note that there is no way thats just the spindle lift up front, my guess would be its double lifted (3" body lift and 3" spindle lift). Spindle lift alone you should be able to clear 33's with no/minimal problems.
*addressed to Dficek

Re: Spindle lift advice
Doetsch and fabtech are the most popular I'd say. I doubt brand really matters much as they are literally large hunks of solid metal hahaha

Ride quality doesn't change from a spindle lift unless you change the springs or shocks. The spindle only adds height
