Ovechkin got suspended that same day because he ran someone into the boards. There is a fine line between being tough and trying to end someones career.

Because Downey wasn't suspended but Ovechkin was? Ovechkin's hit was much more dangerous than the slew foot Downey did on Crosby. The guys face hit the boards and he could've broken his neck. They are getting serious about head injuries now.
