Default pistol preferences

Hey guys im finally old enough to get a pistol ( in NC ) and im torn between a few different "first" guns. Im looking at everything I can but have narrowed it down to the Glock and the M&P. Specifically the g19 g21 g 22 and g30 and the 9mm m&p so let me know your thoughts!

Glock 19, have had mine since the day I turned 21 and it has been with me ever since. It is my daily carry gun and I can't say enough about it.

My old man has a M&P 40 that he likes and is a good weapon as well, you really can't go wrong with either choice.

i personally hate glocks.

but it depends on what you want. If you plan on going to the range and shooting it alot, id buy something that is less expensive to shoot as my first gun.

Glock 22. Also like the Beretta 92FS and S&W 4003(the old CHP standard issue). I would like to get a 1911 one day but those are expensive.

Yea! can't go wrong with Glock, I have a Glock17 9mm that I bought from a policemen when he retired . I like the safety features and durability factor. I also have Walther PPK that even my girlfriend can handle pretty well on the range.

I like my SW40VE, same as a glock besides the safety difference.

Sent it in to be re-machined after 350 rounds, but that was a fluke.

Very happy with my purchase

I shoot a 1911 .45 acp. It has some knock down power.

Alright I went to the gun shop and was considering all of the options in my price range. I held every glock, m&p and even a Sig or two, and they suggested that I get what feels best in my hand. After becoming impartial for a little while I was handed a Sig , I hated that I held that because it was $900!! I quickly let him know I couldn't afford it so he handed me the Sig sp2022 dp 9mm held it up as if I were going to shoot and I looked at the price tag and instantly realized that was the gun I wanted. Since I'm in school away from home I am having to wait until I get home to get my permit. I will post pictures as soon as I get it next week . Thanks guys for all the input.

go take a look at the Ruger SR9C or SR40C. Most comfortable gun you will ever hold! The M&Ps are nice and light and have VERY nice trigger pulls. The new M7P shield looks awesome, but is ver hard to find. After holding quite a few guns and shooting some in my research the past few months, none compared to the Ruger SR9C or SR40c (same gun just different caliber).

PLUS unlike most Glocks, it will come with two magazines, one being the full size magazine that comes with the SR9 or SR40. so you can run a full frame magazine in a compact pistol.

The M&Pc's are ice and super accurate and about the same size as the SR40 and 9

The Ruger is only $395 so its a great price. Ive been doing ALOT of research as I am about to pull the trigger (pun intended) on purchasing one
