This is a newer version of the bow that I shoot. Ditch the whisker biscut rest and get a drop away and you are all set.

My first boy was a bear mauler. Excellent bow to learn on, however bears customer support sucks. Both Hoyt and Mathews customer support is awesome, but wait on those till you understand more about compounds; cam choice, ata length, etc.. Bear, Martin, and pse all have decent bows for the price.

I love my stinger. Mine is the 50 to 60 lb version, I have it set to 58 lbs and my draw length is 29 inches. It is a good fit for either ambush or stand/blind hunting. Also is fun as hell to just shoot.

I might go with that, i have to go to the archery shop to get fit for my draw weight and length first
