2012 Nascar Chase.....
Well this past sunday was very interesting to say the least. Jeff Gordon managed to race his way into the chase while Kyle Busch's night kept going from bad to worse. With 2 wins, Kasey Khane got the other wildcard spot. Smoke managed to hold on to 10th place which means bonus points for wins. Last season he barely got in the chase and won half of the races. Denny Hamlin will be at the top with 4 wins this season. Hendrick Motorsports has all 4 teams in the chase this year which makes history. No team owner has ever had all teams make the chase in one season. The top 10 posistions will get bonus points for wins when they reset this sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. Also you will see some killer changes to the cars next season. They'll look like a car that you'd see in the show room. Ford will be using the mustang body style. Chevy will be Using the camaro, and if there were going to be any, Dodge would be using the current charger body style. Penske will be using Ford next season.

Um no..... You're thinking of the Nationwide series. But that's unchanged besides Chevy bringing in the Camaro.
Ford will be using a new Fusion
Chevy will be using the new SS (it's actually just a Austrian car)
Dodge in the newish Charger
Toyota will be using the Camry still
All the cars now have a lot of body lines and features that were never used before. I think it's a step in the right direction. I hate when stickers determine Ford/Chevy/Dodge/Toyota.

It is great seeing some distinctive lines instead of some stickers. As far as the Chase goes I am pulling for Smoke. I think Brad Keslowski will bring it in this year, just edging between Johnson and Hamlin. As far as teams and drivers that will fall on their face I think Gordon, Kahne, and Jr. will finish near the bottom. Both Ford teams will have a good run. But I would love to see Martian Truex Jr. win one. Just my 0.02

There won't be any dodges because Penske Racing is the last team using dodge this season and they've already announced that they'll be using Fords next season. First they go to fuel injection and now they'll be using the body styles that you see on the street. It took them long enough to use modern technology didn't it.

Yeah they confirmed it not long ago for the Sprint Cup series. I am not a fan of Tony Stewart, but he will be the one to watch along with Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin. Jimmie didn't do to good like he normally does in last year's chase. Denny hamlin did decent and Smoke really tore it up last season.

I didn't understand the whole "kasey khane is not locked in". He was and it just confused me.

I know man. Sometimes I think the points system is rigged. Mechanical failure and Murphy's law says differently when it comes to the cars. And why would Kyle Busch even be considered for a wild card spot is beyond me. After what he did in the truck series and after what his brother did with a reporter, they'd both be out of nascar in my book.

Re: 2012 Nascar Chase.....
Well Brad Keslowski has jumped to the top of the standings with win number 4 at Chicago. Denny Hamlin had a miscue and ran out of gas on the last lap. He finished 16th. This just 1 out of 10 races. The last race will take place in Miami, FLA. on Nov. 18th.

Re: 2012 Nascar Chase.....
Now that we're half way through this season's chase, we can say that the top 3 drivers have a solid chance to win the championship. From 6th on back I consider them pretty much out of this year's championship. The top 3 in points are as follows:
#1: Brad Keslowski
#2: Jimmie Johnson
#3: Denny Hamlin
I am pulling for Denny Hamlin, but It will be between him and Brad Keslowski because of how many wins they have this season (both have 5 wins each).

It seems like 3 man chase, but if Clint Bowyer can win back to back chase races it can become a 4 man chase. The only reason I say this is because Kansas is one of his best tracks. It would be great to see MWR win a championship, but I still see Brad bringing on in for Penske with his Dodge.

Re: 2012 Nascar Chase.....
Well it's now a 2 man chase. Jimmie Johnson took the lead in the points standings over Brad Keslowski by a mere 2 points. If Jimmie Johnson wins this year's championship with only 4 wins while Brad Keslowski has 5 wins and alot more top 5 and top 10 finishes, I'll quit watching nascar. They say it's suppose to be based apon "wins" and last year's season was. But I like to know how the #48 team can be ahead in the points, with 4 wins while Brad Keslowski has 5 and Denny Hamlin also has 5 wins as well. Denny Hamlin's weekend was very bad. He managed to overcome 2 pit road speeding penalties but then a stud broke off his master disconnect switch causing his electrical system to short out. He finished 34th after they had to change out the ECU and master disconnect switch. Joe Gibbs Racing always seems to be a "brides maid" instead of the "bride" when it comes to the chase and the Sprint Cup Championship.
