I'd say 1911 .45 they have an awesome feel and they have quite a bit of power, I've got a colt government issue from 1914, and it's still dead on

Yo Tyler, what did you decide on a pistol?

Sig Sauer so 2022 9mm, best decision I could've made it has the polymer grip and lower with a stainless slide. It was the best feeling gun in my price range and its fairly cheap to shoot! ( Always a plus)

Get what feels best in your hand. For me it's the glocks. I've shot almost every glock out there and love them all. I've also shot a few M&P's. they just don't fit my hand very well and I don't like the trigger on them. I personally have a glock 17 4th gen and absolutely love it

Roger that. As I noted above I like the Ruger LC9, and where I live 9mm is about the mid-range price point for practice ammo.

Like the pioneer cowboys of American history I see a firearm as a handy tool to only be used in unique circumstances. So enjoy the tool! But for God's sake, be careful.

Just last week a 13 year old was killed near where I live when he and four other guys about his age were out skeet shooting. The split-second of inattention that would get someone a skinned knuckle or mashed finger-nail working on a truck can shake out entirely differently when handling firearms.

Regards -

I have been around guns all my life and I have a very high respect for gun safety and guns themselves . That being said I completely agree with you, and I am terribly sorry to hear about the 13 year old. Thank you and everyone else on here for all the suggestions that were given and when getting my second gun I'll be looking back through at all the pros and cons and recommendations given.
Shoot straight, shoot often, and shoot safe ya'll
Tyler

I hate Ruger SR40C... I have one and can't put about 4-5 rounds without a misfire.

I am a Springfield supporter all the way!! XDM40

Getting a glock 27 next. Can't wait to get a subcompact to conceal better than my full size Sig.

looking at getting a Girsan 1911 .45 ACP off of Bud's Gun Shop. Looks to have good reviews and all. The Chrome finish looks sweeeetttttt. Just wandering about how it feels in my hand. Sucks I can't try out first.

It's a 1911 IMO the best "feeling" hand gun on the market. It's like an extension of my hand. Pretty much the only hand guns I look at or buy anymore.
