Default Anybody mountain bike?

Been looking to get into biking for a while. I used to ride every where on one when I was a kid, but when I got my license I kinda stopped.

Any recommendations on a nice bike that is cheap (under $500) but will still last a while and ride well? Would probably be looking mostly into flat ground riding, but riding in the mountains isn't out of the question.

Doesn't matter but hard tail would probably be cheaper.

Look at a giant Yukon. That's what I have and I have had it from mammoth mountain to backtrails near my house. Good bike with good components that aren't cheap but aren't expensive either.

Yeah or like a specialized Rock Hopper those weren't too bad if I remember. I have a StumpJumper and mine is crazy expensive but it has to be I kept braking cheaper ones, I ride quite hard.
