Chipper Jones Retiring
Well, Chipper Jones has made it official, he is retiring at the end of this season with an incredible 19 years with the braves (1993-present). My favorite player of all time and the reason I played third base!

Re: Chipper Jones Retiring
As a Phillies fan, I will say good riddance! he gave us so much crap over the years, especially mid to late 90's
Although, you think he would try to stretch it out to an even 20 years??

Re: Chipper Jones Retiring
Never really been a big braves fan, but have always loved watching chipper play. He just always looked like he was having so much fun doing what he loved. I mean yes, he did make his money, but players now a days are in it for the money. He was in it because he loved to play.

Re: Chipper Jones Retiring
I can't believe that he has been in the league that long, and I saw him on t.v. recently doing pre-season play-by-play. I wonder if he is heading that route or if he will possibly become a coach.

Re: Chipper Jones Retiring
When I first began playing baseball, I knew I wanted to be a 3B like him. He's my favorite player of all time.
The greatest switch hitting player of all time, and one the greatest 3B of all time. Just behind Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Brooks Robinson.
First ballot HOF!

That's a great group to be considered with. And I agree, if he's not first ballot then the voters should never be allowed to vote again.
