i used to do the expensive bemans, but have lately gotten a little cheaper, i've been using the "el cheapo" carbon express from walmart, 5/6 bucks each
tipped with trophy ridge/rocket 2 1/2 " expandables, i've shot 2 bucks, 3 doe and a turkey with them, nothing has gone further than 20 yards, a 2 1/2 inch hole puts them down !!!!!!!!
my high country single cam at almost 80 lbs. doesn't have to worry about penetrating that broadhead, the one doe was the only one it didnt completly pass thru, but then again, i did shoot her straight into the chest, she dropped were she stood, hahahaa
arrow weight ????, it's pushin them plenty fast

expandables are not legal for anything but coyotes here

i'm using custom hickory shafts with Woodsman 3-blade glue on broadheads with my long bow.
8 days till season opens!

5575 browning by gold tip with bone collector "QuikSpin" by NAP and some rage 40KE. i used to use grim reapers but found out my bow wasnt strong enough to let them pass through. hopefully moving up to a stronger bow this year (fingers crossed)

I shoot Carbon Express Maxima 350's with Blazer vanes with Rage 2 blade 125 grain broad heads. I picked up almost 50 FPS by switching to carbons from Easton 2315 superslam aluminums last year.

then that usually means you arrows were not the right size or the bow wasn't tuned properly. carbon should be slower. but anyway how are you liking the rages do they still use those o-ring or have they finally got rid of those?

No, thats the opposite of the truth, the carbons are much lighter than aluminums. I forget the exact weight in comparison but my carbon setup is substantially lighter than my aluminum setup. So far I like the rages, they use the o-rings but thats never been an issue.

correct, the carbons are lighter, stronger, faster, and penetrate deeper than their aluminum comparison for that weight bow

but those above maxima's ....that 125g, broadhead is too heavy for that arrow,
google..... "arrow front of center measurements"
then do the math

those arrows should have a 100g head maximum for best
"front of center" balance

that is the weight head the pro shop suggested because of the spine weight of the arrow, I thought it would be too heavy as well but they shoot well. I may end up going down too 100 grain though to be on the safe side.

the quick spins are great! i get the slip on and heat shrink ones cuz its a lot easier than buying the ones you have to glue on. theyre pretty strong, when i was first sighting in my bow i did a few pass-throughs with plywood and they still flew straight and my groupings have gotten a lot closer, id recommend them to anyone
