Default Anybody else ready for hunting season?

Just like the title says, I'm sure as hell ready for hunting season to come. Been working hard on from getting a new duck blind put up to getting the food plots put in. We've had a few nice bucks on the trail cameras and plenty of does and fawns.

While I want to go hunting this year, I am not ready for it, lol. This last weekend reminded me how out of shape I am. I got my pack and boots in the truck and plan on going for a short hike tomorrow morning and want to start doing that every day or at least every other day so I can get back into shape. Only clocked 300 miles on the truck last year (during hunting season) compared to the year before being 1000 in two weekends, lol. I think we hiked over 50 miles though. Every one of my hunting partners got their deer tags filled, but I didn't. Plus, this year I'll be packing in with both my bow and my rifle, so it should be interesting to see what I might be able to snag. Got my elk, deer and turkey tags and will most likely also pick up a wolf tag and possibly a couple of doe tags.

September is going to be a great month with bowhunting and waterfowl starting but right now my enjoyment is going out every few weeks and checking the trail camera and looking at the food plot

im not ready for deer season because it is boring, dont get me wrong i love huntng and being out there early in the morning and freezing my ass off...but im 23 and ive been going for about 6 years now....no buck yet and school is alwasy in the way. 5 hour drive for 2 days and no buck? fuck but alas im going again this year

i am however READY for dove season!!! opens in 2 weeks for 15 days! and then again in november! hoping to get soem ducks this year but well see...all the trees surrounding my area are gone (gradnpa decided to cut em down...idk why! ) i have no idea where im supposed to hide now, duck blinds especially man made ones dont do too good here

----------

and i never get to use my ranger for deer hunting we always take the jeep...the very cold...jeep lol

its so fucking cold ., dont even get me started on the wind chill. i swear everyoen gets their tags filled but when i come...i dont! it sucks. although i have missed two so far...one when i was 17..i stiill say i hit him but we never found it or evidence. and then the 2nd one was when i was 19, in my defense it was a hard shot! fucking bushes.

I am excited as hell! hopefully get another deer with my bow. im not a 100% if im going to rifle hunt this year or not. i didnt last year because no deer around. DNR says they are everywhere but i think they have their heads up their asses. but im definitely bow hunting. my uncle has a whopper by his house hopefully this weekend ill get the bow out and shoot a few and probably whip my arm with the string a few times. lol always do.
