It was so sweet to watch a Pens winger, Neal, throw pucks at the net from anywhere in the zone and consistently hit it. Salary cap issues makes a $9million 2nd line center kind of expensive. Detroit doesn't pay their goalies anything so they can spread the dollars where it can do some good.
I like pascal Dupuis as well, he is a hard working FWD, but has more Def skills then Off. therefore I think his home should be on the 3rd line and the PK unit. I do believe that staal is great 2nd line Center man, his line of Kunitz and kennedy provided the offence we needed the last 40 games. If we keep that line intact we have the depth of players that can play the PP and the PK plus provide hard hits and decent goals (perhaps in the midst of Staal having about 30 goals, 70 pts/Kennedy 20 goals, 40 assts/ and kunitz with 20 goals and 30 assists) all the while being plus players.

With the Line of Neal, Crosby and Nash, we have crosby who can do the plays he is best at without sacrificing his body too much (Neal can take care of the Boards and Corners) Nash can man the point/face off dots to shoot one-timers (the same that Geno provided) and Neal can crash the net while protecting the puck. With Neal, Nash and Orpik on the ice with Crosby our captain will be less hasseled and we wont need as many enforcers as we have (Asham, Godard and Rupp) one is sufficent (which mean less Penalties against the pens.

On another Note The wings do pay their goalies peanuts Howard barely making $900,000 and Osgood in the mid $1 mil. but howard is going to get the money he is worth and Osgood might be replace with Macdonald (after more conditioning for MacD.) Fleury is paid I think $4.5 which isnt too much but given his consistency issues of the past he wasnt worth that much. Now he has developped in a big game goalie (why he did so well this years since every game was a big game so he had to step up.) Fleury needs to learn that if you let a goal go own, dont lose focus and concentrate on stopping the other ones.

Whoa, Sharks take 2 from Detroit. San Jose seemed to be able to ruffle their feathers. I can see how whichever team wins this series could take it all. Man, can they play.

Nice post R-Sport. Hahaha, had to scroll for the zinger.

Ya, hear you with the love hockey, my sons and I do too. Bruins took it to Philly the first game. I was thinking the Flyers skill would carry them to the finals but with the goalie soap opera as a distraction... Did Montreal wear out Chara or was he ill?

Man alive!!! Go Tampa. Go Bruins. 4-0 each series, can u believe it? I love the Pens but sure can appreciate good hockey from whoever plays it. Hope SJ pulls through. Them and the Wings are demonstrating some highlights on ice, for sure. Rinne and Luongo are playing real tough tonight.

Hey man, blue is blue.

Bah San josee is still bupkiss to me, they have yet to find steady production from Marleau, Thorton, Heatley and Boyle. their 3rd and 4th liners can only do so much although Niemi Impresses with his big game goaltending, If they beat Detroit (still believe they can comeback) I cant see them beating the Canuuks with Luongo and Kesler on the ice. I see a Bruins Canuuk matchup in a matter of weeks

I don't know. If the Sharks can play a bit tighter and take away a bit more time and space they have a chance. That is going to be a very tall task cause Detroit is so deep with talent it's ridiculous. Like you say, what if the San Jose top players start scoring. Didn't that happen earlier in the season with the top lines getting mixed around?

San josee's best has a knack at disappearing during the big money games (playoffs). When questionned about it, Either Thornton, Marleau and company say "say the efforts there, the chances are there, just the bounces are working against us." B-S I say, I watching a game analysis of the last san jose loss against detroit and it shows that Marleau doesnt take the space he needs to break through the Detroit zone (something he normal does in regular season) instead he shoots the puck off right onto the stick of a detroit def instead of passing it to his Right winger who is open. Some players just cant play under pressure and when they do their hockey smarts turn into a slurpee. Its sad to see something like 20 odd million invested in players that cant produce come playoffs when 1 million a year players do all the work. Until they smarten up, San josee wont be a true cup contender or even a juggernaut (like detroit has been for 20 yrs) in my eyes.

Hey Andre: I was hoping another team would be able to knock off Detroit but they are getting stronger as the series goes on. Jealousy is all I can say. Watching 2 periods so far the Sharks are weathering a 90mph blizzard red-storm. I wasn't aware that that the Sharks didn't have the heart to play. By the way, ever watch long drive contests? Not PGA legal but I'd say he has a bag full.
