what have you guys killed this year post up the pics. deer season opened last saturday for us but due to work i haven't been able to go. i pick up my 30.06 friday and plan on gettin the scope sighted in sortly after that.

we have had alot of coyotes on our property killing neighbors cows and stuff and the game warden has given us permission to shoot as many as possible so i will be deer hunting in the early morning and late night and coyote hunting late at night when the sun goes down hope to have pics after this weekend.

so what all have yall killed so far this year?

I know that feeling! I shot at a huge 8 point last year and only hit the very bottom of the stomache. The next week my dad killed it. It was 200 pounds and had a 21 inch spread. I could have died! I also missed a big 6 and early in the season couldn't get a shot on a MONSTER 9!

Gun season opens in a few weeks here. It's been a little too hot to bow hunt. Hope to get a big one. Best of luck to all of you and I hope yall have a great season.

One more thing, if you get the chance to take a small child or disabled child hunting, do it. It is one of the greatest and oldest sports around. I thank my dad for taking me. I have had some of the most memorable experiences of my life hunting with my dad. It is a sport that should be pasted down. It only has to be one or two days out of the season to make an impact on someones life.

I shot over the back of a doe yesterday morning. Thought she was at 30 yards but she was only at 20 yards. Oh well I have all next week off and I am ready to spend all week in the tree stand all week if I have to.

when youre 25 feet in the air judging distance is alot tougher than standing on the ground. things look so much farther away than they really are. lesson learned but thats bowhunting.

Bow hunting can be a heartbreaker. So what kind of bow do you have, I have a Pearson.

yeah it sure can, but i still love it. i enjoy bow season more than rifle for some reason. im shooting a hoyt magnatec that i bought off a buddy of mine. i finally broke down this year and switched to carbon arrows and man did that make a difference. next year im going to get a new sight that has 4 or 5 pins to take advantage of the extra distance i get with these carbons. i used to only sight it in to 30 yards but id bet i could do 50 easy now, i picked up nearly 50 FPS switching from the heavy old aluminums.
