RTR (ready to run) is the way to go 99% of the time IMO. MY first car was an old traxxas e revo but I kept breaking suspension components because it was a monster truck. I prefer SCT trucks because they are usually more durable, funner to bash, and I'm into the go fast racetrucks. I then got a tacon thriller and then a 2wd brushless slash that I'll be putting a castle creations brushless motor and esc in shortly.

Are you looking for people who own these things or places online to get them?

Yeah they def are! I'd like to pick up a nitro car but they're pricier and a little harder to maintain. I know that most parts for a lot of cars are interchangeable, especially with a little bit of creativity. I'd hit up some reputable retailers, maybe run down to any local hobby shops and see if they can point you in the right direction. All of my local hobby shops are super helpful with new rigs and truly want their customers to get the right parts, even if it means sending them down the street to a competitor. Keep this thread bumped with progress and pics!

I've seen a kit to convert it to electric for around $130 plus gotta get a motor and battery. And I took it down one of the three shops in town I know of and there was 3 kids had no idea what it was and said I'd be into it go about $350-400 be for i could drive it and with that they couldn't even really tell me exactly what I needed. I figured more out by looking at pictures on google than they could tell me so needless to say I wont be going back to that shop.
Ill put up a picture of what I'm starting with tomorrow.

So I've decided to put the nitro rc to the side and shell out some cash for an electric. But I'm torn between two. Either the Traxxis slash 4x4 1/16 brushed or a Tacon Thriller 4x4 1/16 brushless. They're both rtr and I can get either for the same price.

I know 1/16 is small but this ones pretty much gonna be somethin for me and my daughter (she's only 4) to play around with.

I have a tacon thriller and it's fun. Fully adjustable coil overs, brushless, 3s lipo ready. It's pretty solid. I don't have experience with the smaller scale slash, but it's a traxxas soooo I'd imagine it's solid.

Here's my thriller on a 35c 3s lipo. It pulls wheelies all day long. In this video part of the driveshaft was actually digging into the motor casing, that's what the clicking was. A small ion holding in the driveshaft got knocked loose and dug a little hole in it. Still works well, I consider it ghetto air conditioning for the motor.

How have your spindles held up? I've read they can be weak. The only down side I can really see to the Tacon is the parts support but I imagine it can only get better.

I've broken one but it was after a 15+ ft launch. The parts are dirt cheap, so I just ordered a ton of spare parts like spindles, axles, etc. everything seems to be holding up for the most part. If you won't be bashing it super hard I don't see you having an issue with part integrity.

Probably but the easiest one available is gonna be a raptor body.
