Columbia Gear Heads Club (SC)
Hey guys, I am starting up a club for anyone that enjoys working on any type of car truck or motorcycle, anyone and everyone is welcome, whether you are just starting to get into cars or if you have been a professional mechanic for 25 years. it doesn't matter if you drive a 1994 toyota corolla or a 2017 mini cooper or a classic 1970 El Camino, beater cars and new cars are welcome to join.
The idea of this group would be to have a nice basis of people interested in cars that can help one another out with any kind of car troubles, or just friends to come to the junkyard for car parts.
I will be scheduling monthly meets at different locations that can house a lot of vehicles and show off our prized possessions and hang out.
If you are interested in joining text me at 7577252516 and I will give you more information.
Or go follow our Facebook page @Columbia Gear Heads
Also bring your friends and family to these meets and spread the word to anyone who might possibly be interested in joining
LOCATED IN COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA

yea.... No one does the "car club" thing anymore there jr. unless you live in East LA, are in your late 30's to early 40's, and still dress like you did in 7th grade and are hoping to grow into your clothes that are too big for yourself still.
You may however find "club" like active folks doing specific things but include like minded vehicles and individuals. These days with most people working the 40/40/40 plan all there free time is spent doing all the things they want to do that they dont have enough time for and with a lot of local authorities giving large groups tickets for "illegal" caravanning, being in a parks or industrial areas after hours..
The Policy Enforcers really have nothing better to do than find creative ways to drain your pockets into their own [the City/County/State] as they themselves are all private corporations wanting your hard earned money more than you do.

Hey easy there bud, i already have a good amount of people in this group 35 right about now, and the idea behind this group is to have people who are generally interested in cars to have some sort of a foundation to rely on for their car problems, whether its having someone going to the junkyard with you to help remove an axle or to simply ask questions, I have already used some people from the group for their help and found it to be incredibly convenient. i know my tag says im 17, but I dont know how to change that, that was made three years ago, so im 20 now. But besides that, there are tons of car clubs around here and around every area of each state, you just have to know where to look, like for example, Cars and Coffee is considered a car club, of course there is no club fee, its still considered one, its a place where you show off your beauty.
Our group does more than that, this passionate group of car lovers will take group junkyard trips, have wrenching days where if you need help working on your vehicle we want to help you out, no questions asked, it's creating a sense of community, making ties to friends and important connections.
So, before you take a dump on the group, know more about it. experience it.
P.S. this group is growing at a pretty good rate for having started on October 3rd of this month.
----------
and also, I will have you know I talk to store owners about them allowing us to congregate in their parking lot for monthly meets, many seem to not mind, so I do have permission to be there.

Re: Columbia Gear Heads Club (SC)
20?
Thats cute..
My the young get triggered mighty quick these days. I did what your doing now and more 26 years ago at your age, been there done that, ran 59 cars total in a Car-club. Been in parking lots for show & shines with "written permissions". Didn't stop local policy enforcement from blocking off the premises, forcing us to leave writing 119 tickets one by one as we left, towing 3 cars, and jailing 2 people for the night. - NO alcohol/drug related mind you.. just clubbing it.
I turned a car club into a tuner performance business starting out of my garage at $27k extra month income slinging parts, [NOT over nighted from Japan] for a couple years on top of TWO other jobs. For 8 years after outgrowing a two story 4 car garage, I afforded a 33,000 sq ft full facility at $8k a month just in rent, that's a [non super] Kmart's if your not good with dimensions yet.
I had 6 drive on ramps, 8 finger lifts, 2 paint booths - One for media blasting with everything from plastic beads to walnut shells, the other total draw down booth. 2WD Mustang Dyno unfortunately but most Suby and Mitsu guys were already fans of another company that gave better prices on AWD Dyno runs than parts. I also had a completely climate controlled engine building room with an engine builder that came with a Honda NSX race team in Colorado of 11 cars. Not only did we do all of their engine works with machining, internals, rebuilds, & blue printing, they sold OUR work to other NSX guys they came across. I had an average of two NSX motors BI-monthly. Its only a big deal to me because just internals without bearings, just wrist pins, pistons, rods, and rings was $11k sale.
I also had 10's of thousands of dollars in parts on shelves in STOCK items with a online store presence that befuddled my competition, i was on 61 forums weekly plugging away at my business..
Most of my guys including myself tracked our cars, aside from the typical street racing stupidity, we were often found on Gingerman on the East side of the Murder mitten, occasionally Norwalk in Ohio for circuit racing. I was more into what was called at the time Solo I & II SCCA autocross tracks.
We did it all, from engine builds and bolt on's to tint and paint, rims and tires, accessories, graphics, it was literally a one stop shop in its time with a helluva cult following.
i could make 8-10 phone calls and have 450-500 people show up for a last minute show in shine on my own lot in 5 hours making some cult films look like coffee shop get together's look like a weak chucky cheese party where the birthday kid walked away from his own pizza party... these were days when you vomited an obscene price and people flipped the keys on the counter and said call them when its done.
I wasnt trying to put you on the defensive but there is NOTHING new under the sun, you arent breaking any NEW ground which was my point. The age and days of expendable income by most is a thing of that 26 yr old past which is why there is such a huge CL, EBAY, Walmart mentality these days and the DIY aspect of it teter's on limited bankroll more so than learning new skill sets..
Im not trying to impress you with anything btw, I'm just stating these are different times. You have an aftermarket radio in your truck? How much did you spend on it if you dont mind me asking?
Last head unit I actually purchased was 1 yr before my oldest son, also 20 at the end of this month was born. I haven't found ANYTHING else that sounds remotely as clean as it nor with the build quality of it. I start throwing around copper shielded chassis and Brown Burr 4 bit DA converters and very few people on this forum could likely tell you what that means without googling it. That head unit was $2300, plus the $699 6-disc changer X 2 JUST because I could. I spend more in RCA's then most are willing to jew a shop down to install an entire system these days. And thats not because of poor negotiation skills, its because I buy top shelf products and for a good reason. And If I couldnt afford it, I would save until I could and not take a short cut. Few people understand marketing and support of local shops anymore.
All may seem off topic to you but its relative because I LONG ago turned a car club into a business that did everything. I wasnt sitting in a parking lot jerking off in a circle because I had nothing better to do than pander people for freebies or efforts of my time.
TIME is a commodity you can NEVER get back so when I offered it along with MY skill sets, it had more of a significant value to it than what today's modern youth think about.
So if you want to compare childish rants, matched and raised... Now run along and go play with your friends while the adults talk
