Ok guys. I have being Texting most of you to ask this but weigh in on this for me. Since the meet I have been debating with myself whether I want to lift it lower my truck. What do you think I should do and why? Not just a vote but give the reasons why.

Hey man!

I think your truck would look awesome either way!

Some of the things that made up my mind on lifting mine was,

1. I like lifted trucks! Lol!

2. Cost

3. The multiple lift options available

4. And last but not least, because I'm a redneck that lives in the country that needs to be able to crawl over stuff that gets in his way! Lmao!

I like lowered trucks as well, but at this point it would just not work for me to have one. But I still think it would be cool to go through the whole process and experiance of dropping one!

Hope that helps a bit!

You know my vote....lift!

Same reasons as Seth but I think the biggest reason is simply the fact that most people you know and hang out with are more into the off road scene than the street scene. Either way you go your truck will be kicka**!

I am lowered for street performance, but I also love lifted trucks and now I am moving to the country and a dirt road but it is not too bad.

Yam - bottom line bro it is your truck, do what will make you happy.

Lifting can be easier than lowering and cheaper too. But which ever way you go PLEASE do it CORRECTLY.

LIFT IT!!!!!

I think you should lift it because it would be cheaper in the long run and most likely more fun. with a lowerd truck your very limited on areas you can go such as walmart, target, and things in that nature because speed bumps and junk.. I also like having the option to go trailing across medians on the highway when theres traffic, cutting through the grass LIKE A BOSS!!!. and when you see smaller cars they just cant really take some of them angles. with a lowerd vehicle your very limited or you just have to think more about what your gonna do vs. a lifted truck you just tell your buddy to hold your beer and watch this.

Thank you for the opinions guys. Now, as far as being cheaper to go up, I am not sure about that. But it is really what I wanted to do originally and 1 of my biggest pros to it is that I need a new vehicle. I am keeping my baby but I need a car the whole family can ride in. If I lower it, I have to buy a truck because I use my truck as a truck often. If I go up, my options for car opens up to all vehicles. Still not sure, but I am researching some more lift kits so any help pointing me in that direction is appreciated. Remember, I have the coil spring front end and not the torsion bars. Thanks guys.

Ok, so I did some searching and found some info on here. I found more than one place where I can buy 3" lift spindles and use them with the stock coil springs, control arms, and ball joints. It isn't until you get wild and crazy, that those things are required. If I get lift coils and spindles, they will add together to make a larger lift. I always was under the impression that if you got lift spindles, you would have to get springs to match. So, check this place out and let me know what you think. I don't want to go too cheap, but I have never heard anything negative about these.....

Oh, and fyi, thinking of going with a 2"-3" coil springs for now, basically level it out. Then, get the spindles later to go bigger. Any suggestions on shocks?

That sounds like a good idea man! As to shocks, it really depends on how much you want to spend. I've used Pro Comp and Monroe, ( which are both considered cheap shocks.) And they have never done me wrong! People also talk alot about the higher end Rancho shocks working very well!

4x4 Parts in Fort Worth has a huge selection of shocks to choose from, and they are very easy to do business with!...

I guess more to my point is, what size or specs should the new shocks have? I just don't have know if stock upgraded shocks are ok or if I have to get crazy worrying about compressed link and extended length and all that. And I might be starting with springs and getting spindles later. Unsure till I buy stuff but getting excited.

Hmmm... I'm not sure what size/length you would need, or whether stock shocks would be okay or not? Lol! I guess it depends on how much you end up lifting it. I had the same question when I lifted the back of my truck. I took it up to the 4x4 shop, and they gave me a set of shocks that was designed for a slight lift. But I know when I cranked my T-bars, my stock shocks were just fine. I'll bet you could call, or go talk to to the guys at the shop, and they could tell you what would be best...

Alright, so I know we talked about this at the last meet but I figured I would post it up here so everyone can comment and mark their calenders. Everyone at the last meet pretty much collectively agreed to have a monthly Ranger meet having the last one be the first of many. So the last Sunday of every month will be our monthly meet (meaning Oct. 30 will be the next one).

Any objections, comments, concerns? I figure same time (5pm) will also eliminate confusion. As for location, I don't care where. Suggestions? Main Event again?

Hey man!

As mentioned, the last Sunday of the month works great for me, as well as the 5 PM time frame! And Main Event worked great last time, especially having the big parking lot, and the easy access to food! Lol! So that works for me as well. But if any of the other guys have ideas, or suggestions, please chime in! I'm open to anything! Thanks!

Looking foward to the next meet!

That should be fine for me as well. I might be late to a couple of them as I may have my son and need to take him home on those days but since i drop him off at 6pm I wont be too late. I am looking forward to the next one and trying to get some changes to my truck so I can show you what I got.

That's cool man. We will be sure and save plenty of fun for you if you are ever a bit late! Lol! Look foward to seeing what you have in the works for your Ranger!...
