I was sorely dissappointed with the results. Some people can't enjoy a show, and I for one didn't like the judges, they didn't look at anything, and seemed irrated when I attempted to show them some mods that weren't obvious.

Either way, I doubt I'll be going back, not because I didn't win, because it was too rushed and put together. Lots of people wont be there 2011 if they follow up on what they say.

how is layd out to rushed and put together???? layd out is planned over 9 months in advanced every year. why even complain that the judges this or that jus go to have fun and enjoy it. and what results were you so disappointed with??? 700 cars in one weekend??? idk of many other mini-style shows that can bring that in. look across the fields and you see how many feature and cover trucks??? layd out brings out the most quality on the east coast. any suggestions you have please let me hear so i can pass them to jeffrey. if you dnt want to do it on here then do it in a pm and you say lots wnt be there thats why half the hotel is booked over 6 months in advance. and on track to have more pre registers than ever. the only reason people wnt be there is because tex mex is the next weekend and that wnt hardly hurt the numbers.

and dc if u show up i dnt think you will be disappointed show up early though cause i dnt think you will want to be in the line that backs all the way up to the interstate to get in

They didnt have time with the trophies at the end, people were confused, and had trouble getting that handed out.

I had my display up for judging all three days, judging seemed to judge cards near me and next to me, yet I somehow managed to get missed until the last day.

When I did get judged, they spent less than twenty seconds there. Didnt look at hood that was popped, or even in the interior of the truck.

I never saw it backed to the interstate, and I went all three days, the worst I saw it was around top the end of the entrance road.

And 700 cars? I highly doubt that, unless many people registered and didnt show up.

The F100 show was greater by far, people that are more mature, not doing burnouts on trailers, or causing trouble otherwise. Not the mention there was a real turnout at that show.

Not saying I'm a show-vet, but as far as what Ive been to, I prefered the little shows at the LionORama and the benefit for Chad Mullins in the same city. Layd Out was too much hype with nothing really happening for me.

there was 698 cars there. burnouts and stuff is part of the age group that builds minis. i went to f-100 show also. have you ever been to an f-100 show before??? the past shows have tremendously been down in numbers. back in early 200's there was 1500 trucks there and i agree with ya back then it was one hell of a show. jus like when a hot rod comes to a mini show it feels left out. when i took my freshly debuted ranger to f-100 show. i was an outkast. charlie tried to put me inside but i wouldnt do it. now you want to bash layd out so much. since f-100 is a charlie cobble show go to his mini show slammin and jammin at chilowhee park and tell me which one you like better. i agree charlie usually has the numbers but he jus doesnt have the quality and he knows that. he is there for the numbers cause numbers= money.

As far as judging. judging is done by around 4 or 5 people. so they dont have time to do this or that on everytruck. they spend most time in their opinon what looks like may win a trophy. i am in no way disgracing your truck or anything in all of this. it may be by ur budget or jus the way you want it. hell i am sure you would call me crazy for putting as much in mine as i did but its the way i wanted it. don't bash something for no reason. i mean when you compare layd out to a lions club car show that is a disgrace i mean ur talking maybe 100 rides if that. i have been to all the local shows. and lots many times best show around hands down is layd out.

My ranger was fine in the F-100 Show. Within five minutes I had three people talking to me about the wheels, all of them owned newer rangers as well and wanted to know if they were Mustang rims, where to get some similar, etc. Placed 3rd in Rangers (believe class was called minis but was all stock suspension rangers so...) Mostly due to my interior I would say, as they had some clean rangers, most had a stock interior though.

Use to have 1500 trucks? I entered first day at the F-100 this year, was number 11xx+ Want to say 13xx but I cant say for sure, I know it was up there though. The quality of the cars there were better in my opinion. You had mild paint, clean primer jobs, full out custom work, everything. As for Slammin I was unable to attend this year, next year looks promising, depending on how my Escort Wagon build ends up running me in time and money.

I dont remember seeing that many cars at Layd Out, and most of the people there, werent the crowd I like to talk to. The owners at the F-100 were much more willing to talk without cursing, downing someone elses work, or just plain being an ass. Not to mention the two or three drunks wandering around during the show like at Layd.

The owner of Layd seemed cool, its just the crowd I suppose. Things such as the Scion class (saw a single one, even if it was a buddy, what happened to three per class?), and I remember a chevy number being called out in a ford class. Then theres the talk about the primer truck winning paint (one with handpainted work on interior). And while I cannot say I know that last one as a fact, I hope it isnt true.

As for my truck, only had it alittle under two years. Didnt start doing anything to it until early this year, and at the show, it was nearly stock. However, if theres an option on the sheet to look at interior and engine, don't you believe it should be done? Theres less than 7G rand in it right now, including the 3500 I paid for it. That includes new rims and tires, a 500 bedliner, and a 500-ish stereo. I'm a college man, and I have priorities.

You seem like a minitrucker that has some sense, and I like that. Unfortunately most of the ones I met there werent people I like to associate with, and it was friends who talked me into going. All I know is from reading some other boards, and talking to some people at the some, a lot of people werent happy for opne reason or another, and it's more than just trophy envy, I'm sure. Maybe this year will be better. I have no plans to go, unless I have nothing better to do or my buddies hound me again.
