Back running lights are not working

I just purchased a 2005 Ford Ranger, 4 cylinder motor, with 178,000 miles on the truck. My back running lights are not working. The turn signals work, the flashers work, and the brake lights work. The head light work as well. Any suggestions? I am new to the forum. Thanks, Rocky

Auto/manual trans will slightly differ in some manners but..

Likely issue

Could be the ball switch in the trans
Could also be a fuse or line in the harness

Less likely issue but applicable

Any new work done under the bed/damage to the vehicle by chance?
