Let me re phrase that it's a easy swap if you have the basic knowledge of how suspension works
Have a decent welder
Welding capabilities and some heavy duty steel.

What's your time frame?

Here's what i did
I built everything on the table. Bolted my springs to the axle. Then mounted springs to the front solid mount. Mounted my shackles and brackets to the rear of the springs. Bolted on calipers so every thing was ready to go

Pulled my truck onto the lift took my tires off the truck and bolted to new axle.
Took all the ttb junk out.

Rolled new axle under it grab a few measurements to make it square.
Tack it Very well where needs to be and set it on it's own weight to make sure nothing binds or is out of whack. Make any adjustments then weld it up.
Much easier with two ppl but I did it alone so it's doable

Well I bought my axle from a hardcore jeep guy. It's already build it just needs brakes and rotors, I got the coil retainer cut off. My plan is to mount the springs on the axle and get it ready to go. Then put it under the truck with my wheels and tires on it, and decide where to put the shackle and the front hanger, build the hangar and get it welded up, then bolt it up and set it down. Roll it around to see its quirks, and put the finishing touchs on. Then focus on the steering. I've heard I could use a Toyota steering box and shaft so I'll experiment with that I reckon.

You should already have a pitman arm steering box. It is going on a 97 right?

Yeah it's a 97, but tbh with you this is obviously my first swap, and I'm not sure how it'll work out. I'm on this app 24/7 researching. But I'm lost so far as to how I'll do the steering.

Does your jeep have all the steering components?
Are you going spring over axle or spring under?
I used the jeep stuff up till my pitman arm then cut the jeep stuff off and welded that to the drag link near the pitman arm.
It's ugly but solid. I have Dom tubing ready to redo it

You looked at stock Toyota front leafs? They'd probably set about right. You could probably finally find them fairly easy.

Well the jeep I got it off of was missing parts, I got the tie rod, trac bar and the axle itself

----------

And I'm definitely doing spring over
