Default Sas 03 ford ranger 4x4

How much of a project Is the straight axle swap id like to do it but I don't know much about it

on a 03 like yours. a lot more than if it was a older ranger. on a 03 you have to cut everything off in the front and weld all the new sas stuff. than it depends is you do leaf spring or coils. done right could cost a few grand or more as i have seen some people go all out with the best parts they can get.

Yea I knew it wasn't going to be cheep I hate the tortionbars and I'm probly going to do the swap eventually. What do you have to cut off to do the swap

pretty much everything off the frame. the suspension and steering has to be cut off. most unbolts but it is easier to cut the supports that hold the steering and suspension right off the frame.

Read through there you cut a good chunk out of the truck and to get proper coils to fit you have to cut a chunk out of the frame.

yes, follow this build if you wanna just have someone else build your truck. sorry dude, had to give ya one last round of shit. haha.

op.. your best asset in something like this is research. start reading. read every build thread you can on the subject, focus on rangers related to your year (98+). if youre doing this just to get rid of torsion bars, why not look into a coilover conversion for your current setup?

Yea I've thought about the coil over I really don't know what I wana do yet I'm kinda busy at the moment going to college and I have a full time job so until I have the time to actually start getting shit done I'm just trying to get some ideas and plan out what I'm going to do
