Default Transfer Case Noise after SAS

So I did my SAS about 4 months ago and has been great. I love it. But i never had a front driveshaft until about a week ago. Now that it is in, m you can here what sounds like the chain spinning in my transfer case as the driveshaft spins. I know this is because of the automatic hubs making the driveshaft spim whereas the ifs it didnt, my big question is, is this ruining my transfer case?? The 4wheel drive works perfect no problems. I just want to know if anyone has this same noise and if it is something i should take concern in? I really dont want to buy a 1200 dollar D30 lock out hub conversion kit. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

----------

Just to clarify this noise is when im going down the road. Not while in 4wd

Unhappy Re: Transfer Case Noise after SAS

I did a solid axle swap on my 94 mazda b4000 (Ranger 4.0 v6) in september and about a month ago i started getting an annoying squeaking sound too. So I finally took my front drive shaft out and that stopped it. I am having the same problem as you and I'm not sure why either. 4 wheel drive works perfect still, just annoying sound while moving, and louder the faster I go.

Default Re: Transfer Case Noise after SAS

you need manual locking hubs. the transfer cases in these trucks are not designed to free spin like that. it will hurt your transfer case after a while. second thing.... have you ever done a transfer case service? made sure you had enough oil in it? if the oil is good or needs to be changed??
