i drive a 2007 fx4 level 2 nothing done to the suspension but i have a 1" bodylift on ....i know..... but it was a clearance issue lol
im wondering if anyone has done it im planing on using 2 bronco dana 44 with disk brakets already setup....
as for the steering i am clue less i read something about a toyota box ... if so what year / model
if anyone could come up with a parts list for me that would be great ... planing on runing coils and shocks with radius arm ...i work in a machine shop so cutting splines and making track bars will be the easie part for me

I might have a Toyota IFS steering box that your looking for. $65 shipped if I still have it.
On a side note. Bronco didn't have a D44 rear, you have pics of the axles? (I think thats what you mean by "2 bronco D44") Should be a 9" rear axle, if its original.

Ya I was wrong I'm just getting the f150 front Dana 44 so should I get f150 steering and shafts and jus run that
----------
Do you think it's worth upgrading a ford 8.8 for a Dana 44

The stock f150 stuff is good for 33-35's and may break on the trail, I would plan to not have them now.

F150 front end will be fullwidth. about 5" wider then your stock 8.8. Since you have a LVL2 I would pull your rear axle and sell it. Its worth a good amount of money to ranger owners. I would pick up a fullwidth 8.8 to match that front end. Only thing you would lose in the deal would be the torsen, but I would go with a locker over a rear L/S any day.

Hell with a fullwidth 8.8 get 3/4 ton 8 lug outers for the F150 axle and a sterling FF rear. Why replace a 1/2 ton axle with another 1/2 ton axle.

Cost. Fullwidth 8.8 rears are dirt cheap and then you dont have to touch the outers on the front axle. It would really depend on the tire size he is running. 35-36" tires skip the sterling, 38-39" tires, he shouldn't have a 44 front. I don't advocate the 3/4 ton setup, because in the end the front end will still be one of the weak points. The extra money on a 60 front would be worth it at that point over a built 44.

Re: got my 2 dana 44 need help lol
Axles cost the same to me 8.8" or sterling. Outers would run $50 for the pair for me as well. Plenty of guys run D44's with 38's with upgraded shafts, it wouldn't be the weakest setup in the world just not the strongest. It also throws out having to replace the rear axle if a year for now he decides he wants to go up to 42's now your down to a new front axle. Just seems simpler to me.

You should be buying 3/4 ton outers and selling them on pirate. If that price is true then you are in a area that is rare, that is not the case most places.

local upullit is dirt cheap. Hell I got my D60 front for $92 there and the rear D60 with disks for $140. He has 2 or 3 8 lug D44 sitting there maybe I should get my lazy self around to pulling them. Didn't realise they were worth anything.

K sounds good .... 3 link would not be a good plan for a daily driver tho right ... Correct me if I'm wrong lol .... I also messaged this company about coil buckets and shock hoops this is what they said back the only thing is its a dual shock and coil bucket setup check it out let me know what you think I think the price is up there but would defiantly save a lot of time fabbing shit up thanks for the help bud
John Ehmke
Show details
Philippe, I think you would be better off buying the coil buckets separately , The shock hoops and mounting points should be left unwelded in component form which would allow you to custom fit them to your chassis. I will make up the necessary parts for you including the coil adjustment feature for $1000. The coil buckets will be fully welded and ready to bolt or weld to your frame. All the other parts will be bent but unfit leaving extra material for you to work with. Our shock tabs etc will be included and tacked in place to show you how they mount. You can un tack them and relocate as necessary. John.

Subject: Autofab wheel travel kit
hey i was looking at the kit http://www.autofab.com/16front1.htm and was wondering if i could order just some pieces out of it ... im swaping from independant front suspension to solid front axel dana 44 so i think i can use those coil and shock mounts and just reinforce the frame and drill some holes or even weld them on there get back to me on that please
thanks, philppe belanger

Re: got my 2 dana 44 need help lol
Damn those are expensive it would be a lot cheaper to just make them. They look nice there is no need for dual shocks though.
