lift and travel question

okay so i threw out my prerunner idea and now im strongly looking into a sas and i was thinking about just buying a parts f150 and swapping the whole drivetrain and suspension in .. but on the other hand i was wondering which could i obtain more lift from a leaf spring setup or coils

building a mud bog/ light trail truck

and do i have to get a trans out of a 4x4 or can i just get a 4x4 transferr case

The tail shaft on the tranny is different... Meaning you need a trans too... If you swap the driveline over from an f150 and the axles on the f150 are wider so your tires are going to stick out (axles can be narrowed but cost some $$$) what your wanting to do is alot of fabrication, not saying it cant be done but its alot of work

Yea i want full width axels .. Thanks for your help .. And from what ive read on here i can only use certain transmissions with the 4.0
