I have a 2000 ford ranger xlt 2.5l i want to swap in a 8.8 im planning on turboing my truck so i need a superior axle to hold the power i was wondering what is the easiest axle to swap meaning is there a direct bolt on i also want 3.73 gears and also what does l/s mean concerning axles..... limited slip? maybe? idk i want what ever i can get to make both wheels to spin i dont want one tire fire lol all knowlege is appriciated.

Btw my axle code is 85 idk if that helps but figured it might.

pull a 8.8 out of any 4.0 ranger you can also use car-part.com. L/S is limited slip one tires spins and when it starts to loss traction the other one kicks in to pick up the slack

honestly it concerns me that you are worried about it being easy and bolt on if you are doing a turbo, im not being bitchy or rude, just wanna make sure you are ready. but i would step it up and get an exploder axle caus then you get disc brakes.

I do not have a garage right now so i am in the process of moving but my buddy has a shop and i just want to get working on it by throwing ina stronger rear end. The turbo process wont start for like 6 monthes when im in my new home with my own garage. Also the explorer axle will that bolt right up or will i need to re weld the shock mounts or anything. Also i take no offense i could see where you are coming from but ive done my research im gathering parts now and will do the work down the road a bit.

using the expo rear end you will need to re locate the spring perches and shocks mounts
