Super bad on gas it's a 5.4 with 2 extra cyl I've never seen a v10 last very long
I don't like the way the 5.4 is set up
if you need that kinda power might as well go with a diesel
You get more power then the v10 and way better mpg

Its in a ranger with one tons and big ass tires if I was worried about gas mileage I would get a prius and cut my balls off.

The v10's last fine up here, no different than a 4.6/5.4 does. Got a buddy who sold his 2v at 500k for a 3v that he used purely for towing. Same setup I grabbed 6.8/zf6/271 its about as stout as they come.

There also isnt a diesel that fits as easily as the 6.8 that makes the power a 6.8 does. 4bt/6.5 are about as big as you can go without extending the front clip or letting half the motor hang out of the hood.

Well it has begun. Tear down finally started on the eve of yet another blizzard :/ stupid weather and unheated garage.

So large lol.

Going to have to cut the core support out and reweld it in after the motor is swapped.

Checking for clearances. Motor fits with room to spare, this is with the rad in the stock location even. Drivers side motor mount is going to be a fiasco however...

Basic gist of the motor mounts plans. Plate on the block is 3/8th, the pair of ramps is 1/4. I am however out of gas...so tack with flux and purchase some 75/25 monday.

First off I hate flux core, but was out of gas and everything is closed. Penetration is good and I lifted the truck with the mount so I assume its fine. Have to work later today so only got one mount done. Other side will mimic this one.
