Re: SAS swap+lift
Snagged some chromo 4340 35 spline inner/outer shafts, yukon hardcore hubs and an NP205 to run. Will be cool to have front dig and a pretty solid front end.

Re: SAS swap+lift
Planning on putting the v10 on hold and dropping the current one I have into my super duty to be a working tow rig and hunting down an auto so I don't have to destroy my cab. Wife is already getting the tranny fixed something about wanting to drive my truck.

Re: SAS swap+lift
nice build, im looking into starting my swap also, still dont know what axels im going to use, might get the d44 front and back, dont plan on rock crawling, just riding the trails to hunt and fish. How good will the d44 hold up with 35s, and maybe 37 here and there on weekends?

Re: SAS swap+lift
With that kind of trail it will be fine with either 35's or 37's with good ujoints.

Re: SAS swap+lift
Update to this. The current 5R55e is torn down, valve body is out and it looks like something is bent in the manual section that shifts.
New shafts for the front are sitting in the truck and I still need to get the parts to rebuild my front DS. The double cardon joint is trashed and needs a rebuild.

Re: SAS swap+lift
V10 that is now going into the superduty. V8 out of the superduty+4r100+nv271/NP205 will be going into the ranger. Unluckily due to my new home I will actually need a plow truck and the beat up old superduty fits the build.

Re: SAS swap+lift
Got some stuff done today. The 4340 35 spline shafts are assembled, one hub is apart, both diffs are drained ready for new fluid and the transmission is partially reassembled.
Also broke my snap-on dead blow will have to hunt down a truck.
Things left
Install 35 spline shafts
refill diffs
reinstall transfer case/shafts
Finish trans/fill

Just going to hunt down the truck. Local 4x4 shop has some snap-on tools so he makes rounds.

Re: SAS swap+lift
Had to clearance the shafts a smidge to get them to clear the knuckles.
Got one side completely done. The other is together, but tomorrow I will have to tear it back down as its not locking in place. I must have put something together wrong.
The new hubs sure do look pretty

Re: SAS swap+lift
Throttle body and ECU in. Luckily this is a cable TB and not an electric one makes the swap about a million times better.
