F150 axle?
I'm working on swapping out the rear axle to prep for a bed cage. I was initially looking for an 8.8 axle, but I found someone who is selling an F150 rear axle (9.75 with 3.55 gears) for 150 bucks from an F150 FX4. Would this be compatible or at least possible to swap over?

Anything is possible. Just depends how much work you want to put into in. You will probably just need to move the leaf perches and shock mounts on the axle and may need to adapt your drive shaft and brake line

The shock mounts will be mounted on the Ubolt plate so they kind of go hand in hand. I just didn't know if there were anything major I would have to worry about.

Re: F150 axle?
Brake line connections are a different size. The rangers ubolt flange will bolt to the axle, the driveshaft will be to long depending on lift height.

Re: F150 axle?
Just a question for an observer stand point, but hoe would the F-150 axle width correspond to the stock 8.8? Wouldn't it be a bit wider, or is that what your going for?
Just wondering.

My front end already has 3 more inches so the extra width wouldn't be an issue.

Re: F150 axle?
Lug pattern is different so you're gonna have to carry two different size wheels for spares unless you can find adapters.

I think it depends on the year of the 150, I believe the older ones had the same lug pattern as the ranger. They switched to the 6 lug pattern in 2004? I think? I may be wrong..
