I picked up both axles for 300 the sets i have seen around me want 1200 the set so i jumped on this set. And the were the best set of axles to run for me cuz my whole family has them i there super duties so i knew if i had a problem i could just ask them.

Re: Questions about sas swap?
Look into getting the spiders opened up to 35 splines as well as the unit bearings on that d50. Otherwise you are going to be eating shafts...I went 35 spline chromo inner/outers with only 38.5's for perspective...

Re: Questions about sas swap?
Just remember d50's get tossed out for good reason. Pinion on them is weak when coupled with large tires....

Re: Questions about sas swap?
Depends what you want. D50 gears in a D44HP housing with D60 outers and 35 spline inners and outers is pretty hard to beat for clearance and weight. A 35 spline new style D44 (8.9" ring gear) isn't bad either.

Thats weird cuz my dads 99 f250 with the 5.4 has stock axles also and hes running 42s and has been since 2003 and never has had a problem with front pinion we have done a motor and trans and rebuilt the rear in 2002 but since then havent had any problems besides lockouts going bad. So we will see what happens in my truck when i start driving it again. If need be ill build the axles up but this truck is my daily driver.

Re: Questions about sas swap?
I am assuming by the fact that's its an f250 that you don't exactly take it rock crawling...they are fine for mudders.

Re: Questions about sas swap?
I wouldn't even worry about the stock shafts at that point.
