I think it might be a good idea to have moderator badges under their username like so:
of course this is a admin badge, but you get the idea. I have seen where alot of members dont who who the moderators are when they are arguing with someone, and then when the mods do step in, they say something like "who died and made you moderator?" This would help tremedously; I know there is a list, which is great, but not everyone looks at that list. This way, you will know as soon as they post, they are a moderator. In Tom's case he would have the administrator/owner badge) of course
to go even further, since we have a TOTM contest, maybe they can get a badge too!

Badges are a great idea. Lets people know who to turn to for questions or concerns.

I for one don't want moderators UNLESS it's needed and i've seen nothing here that warrants the use of a forum police force.
people think more cops(moderators) means a better forum, but maybe this forum is getting 10-20 new members each day because their isn't 10 moderators and 3 administrators overseeing what everyone says. We're all adults here and it's nice that we can be honest in our threads/posts without a moderator banning you for saying how you feel (within reason, of course)
But, if moderators are chosen, please let the following criteria be a factor: over 1000 posts and has to be a member of FRF for more than 6 months. On another forum, some kid with 250 posts somehow became moderator even though lots of others (myself included had way more time in the forum and a higher post count)
One last item: choosing Moderators because they are your friends: NO. i've seen other forums where a new moderator is chosen and i've found out that the "new" moderator was at a meet with an administrator the week before.
I know the above idea's sound silly, but think of it like a business: you promote the hard working, long term employees NOT the new kid who's 18 and new to the company.
Thank you for your time!
