Haha. I honestly think, like stated earlier, The owner of R/F realized that FRF is more appealing to most Ranger junkies. Its a lot more updated. Everytime I log onto R/F, it feels like I'm going back in time. lol. That forum is dying slowly. Don't get me wrong, I like R/F, but if shit like this keeps goin' on, I'm not gonna contribute anymore.

R/F got a NEW owner?

Google anything related ford ranger and see what pops up the most. Not his site.

Ever notice before he took over how many contributors there were. Not so many now.

That site went from free to a pay site in my eyes. More areas you have to be a paid member to view. Never was like that before except for maybe 1 area if that.

Any other ford ranger site is censored from R/F so if you type fordrangerforum.com it just comes up *************.com same with all other ranger sites

He makes money off R/F and not having people pay is taking money away.

So all that are currently contributors on that site are probably funding his lawsuit

I myself am not renewing my contributions as well.
But what's this, all about "Filing a legal Claim"? What exactly is the description of that? lol. And according to Rick and Zabeard, they never said anything of the likes, according to their posts on R/F. I myself am not taking sides, but i do prefer FRF. I'm just interested in finding out the WHOLE TRUTH....

Rick filed a DMCA violation. This is a legal complaint, which in essence requires the accuser to sign under penalty of perjury that we are using their copyrighted work. We are not being sued in the traditional manner (yet) but a DMCA complaint is still a very serious legal issue. You may have heard about the DMCA from when Viacom filed against Youtube ( http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/03..._lawsuit_dmca/ )


The timeline is essentially like so:
Wednesday Afternoon: Rick tells us to remove Bob's how-to thread as a precursor to filing a DMCA

Thursday Morning: Bob emails us, as well as copies R/F, in response to an email we send him asking to confirm we have his permission. In that email to us and R/F, Bob stated that we have his permission to have his how-to thread on our site.

Thursday Evening: Rick files a DMCA violation stating under penalty of perjury he is the copyright holder or is a legal representative of the copyright holder (aka the copyright holders attorney, which is all standard legal language).

Friday: I submit my formal legal response to the DMCA pointing out that Rick is not the copyright holder and is knowingly committing perjuy. I then point out the fact we have the true copyright holders permission, as well as that the guide in question has been posted on other forums by Bob.

Saturday: Rick was notified that he needs to prove he is indeed the copyright holder or the claim will be dropped.

I stood up to this kind of behavior from Rick and Zach the day that psychotic lying piece of $hit took over the site. And I got exiled for it. Looking at the current state of affairs on R-F, I think it was a blessing in disguise. I'm so glad I'm still IP banned (but according to Rick and Zach, I resigned....). I want nothing to do with that place and it looks great in my rearview mirror getting smaller and smaller. It still bothers me given the amount of time and grief I put into the forum but I'm better off not being part of it now. F that.

Don't let that $hithead bully you around Tommy. Shove the DCMA claim down his throat.
