people think more cops(moderators) means a better forum, but maybe this forum is getting 10-20 new members each day because their isn't 10 moderators and 3 administrators overseeing what everyone says. We're all adults here and it's nice that we can be honest in our threads/posts without a moderator banning you for saying how you feel (within reason, of course)
But, if moderators are chosen, please let the following criteria be a factor: over 1000 posts and has to be a member of FRF for more than 6 months. On another forum, some kid with 250 posts somehow became moderator even though lots of others (myself included had way more time in the forum and a higher post count)
One last item: choosing Moderators because they are your friends: NO. i've seen other forums where a new moderator is chosen and i've found out that the "new" moderator was at a meet with an administrator the week before.
I know the above idea's sound silly, but think of it like a business: you promote the hard working, long term employees NOT the new kid who's 18 and new to the company.

Thank you for your time!
You have a good point but i dont think post count is everything. Dont get me wrong i dont want a new guy runnin around a week after he got onto the cite. But i think there could be somethin like a probation period for new mods and they should be very limited on what they can do until they prove themselves.

Thanks for all your input Terry!

"I for one don't want moderators UNLESS it's needed and i've seen nothing here that warrants the use of a forum police force."

You haven't seen anything over here that warrants the use of a forum police because we are pretty quick to take care of any issues that are brought up. We also all chat regularly and make sure everything is running smooth. We are here just in case something comes up, not running around trying to overmoderate anything.

There are already moderators who have been here since before day one, and just because someone has alot of posts doesn't mean that they will be good or should be a moderator. I have been on various ranger forums since 04 and have thousands of posts on other sites.

We have no plans for any other moderators currently as there is no real need for any more, but be assured it wont just be a random pick.

EDIT: Also, this is not a thread about finding new mods. Just the fact that we are now going to be more "visible" with tags and it looks like tom already took care of it

Thank you for your input but there is no plan to change our current moderator staff. All that is being asked is to better identify who the current moderators already are.

The reason nothing is being seen that warrants a "moderator police force" is that the "force" is doing their collective jobs! Trust me, it's a busy job fighting off spam attacks, offensive members/posts...etc.
