When you reply to some one or make a post on the right hand side of the screen just click which one you want also click "other" and it will pop up a new page with more

when you reply in a thread you have to click "go advanced"

If you go to your control panel, Edit Options, and scroll down to Misc. Options, and select "Standard Editor - Extra Formatting Controls" you don't have click "advanced", the advanced features will be there when you click reply. There will be a small box with a few of the smilies, and underneath them you can click "more" to see the rest of them in a new window.

That is if you use the post reply button and don't go down to the quick reply
