Default itrader/heatware

there are alot of issues on this forum with items being bought and sold can we add something like this

You MUST have a picture of the item WITH your name HAND WRITTEN on a piece of paper at the time you post it for sale. NO EXCEPTIONS! No posts stating "pics up in a minute" or any such nonsense. Your thread will be deleted immediately without explanation if you do this. It is not necessary for additional pictures of the same item, like pictures taken from a different angle to have the sellers username handwritten on a piece of paper.

Bumps. One bump by the seller every 24 hours, period. NO EXCEPTIONS. Violating this rule WILL get you a custom infraction by me. Please be sure that you don't have a million friends bump for you either, or it may also result in infractions. Let's keep the threads full of legitimate bumps and questions ONLY!

No images are to be included in bumps. They are there to make sure your thread doesnt get buried in the for sale forum, not to get attention with scantily clad ladies.

Please use appropriate tags in front of your thread title:

For Sale: [FS]
To Buy:[WTB]
Trade: [FT]
Giveaway: [FF]
Region of the seller/buyer: [US][CA][UK][GE] (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, etc)
Include your geographical location in the first post so people can have a guess at shipping costs.
FS/FT posts need to always include the type of post in the title (FS, FT, WTB) along with your location (US, CA, UK, DE, etc). We are a multi-national forum and this formatting of titles will make doing business here easier.
Please, no asking for handouts/free stuff.

An example of a proper title would be:

[FS/FT][US] item name + details, item name + details

Getting your thread title changed.

If you need your thread title changed, the fastest and easiest way to get your thread title changed is to PM a moderator who moderates that section along with a note on what you want the thread title changed to. Do NOT use the report button for these matters.

Guidelines:
  • This forum is provided as a community service. We are not responsible for any transactions or losses that result from postings in this forum.
  • Advertising the sale of illegal items, such as but not limited to narcotics, pornography, and other items deemed illegal, will result in said post being deleted and poster being immediately banned. Authorities may be notified of the poster's IP address as well.
  • No Dealers, Merchants or Resellers. This forum is for private deals only.
  • No links to auctions or other sites. (No Ebay links)
  • You can not sell an OEM operating systems or software unless you include the computer it came with.
  • No engineering samples.
  • Trade, buy or sell only goods that physically exist. No virtual items such as software licenses or WoW accounts. Items that can be sold on techPowerUp! can only be items that fit within this website such as but not limited to computer and gaming hardware.
  • Don't post if you do not have physical possession of items for sale. You must have the items in your possession to sell them.
  • As a courtesy to others, if you have sold your items, or the items are no longer available, please post so in your thread so needless inquiries are not made.
  • Once a sale is final, edit the first post saying the item is sold.
  • Required 24 hour time period between seller post bumps
  • No "Free Ipod" stuff or other referral links.
  • Post a picture of the physical item you are selling/trading, along with your techPowerUp! forums account name handwritten (Not typed or printed!) on a piece of paper in the background. This is to validate that there is an item being sold and that you are the seller. -Have your pictures ready before you post your thread! No pics, don't post or your thread will be deleted.
  • "Feeler" threads, or threads to "check the interest of item(s)" are not acceptable. No pre-sale threads. No listing items that will be for sale in the future.
  • Please remember to insert a link to your heatware if you are selling an item. This is also to validate you are a valid seller. If you don't have a heatware, please read all about how to get one below. This is required.
  • After you have sold an item, please post that it has been sold on the first post so that other people know that the item is not for sale.

If you are confused as to what your thread should look like, please take a look at LiNKiN's FS/FT thread.

When posting in FS/FT, you must follow these guidelines:

Only post in a FS/FT thread if you are...
1) Bumping the thread. (Once every 24 hours for sellers)
2) Interested in the item and asking a question.

Don't do these things in FS/FT threads:
1) Argue over whether prices are fair, or...
2) ...say that something else is cheaper elsewhere.
3) Argue with other members.
4) Negotiate the price of an item you want to buy. This should be done through private messages.

You must wait 14 days before posting in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum.

If you want to sell something and you get a "you don't have permission to see this page" error, here's why. We have for a long time been dealing with a high volume of spam that's been posted in this forum. There are also jerks who register, sell their stuff, and then we never hear from them again. So to remind everyone that the BSTG threads are a marketplace for longtime TPU members, we've made it so that people can only post here if there account is in good standing (hasn't been banned) for 14 days. Thanks for your cooperation.

Heatware is required.
www.heatware.com

Heatware has an alias feature where you set all of your names from different forums. This feature is meant to prevent someone from impersonating the person whom the heatware belongs to.

I would also recommend adding a "I dont trade anywhere else" alias to further protect against impersonation.

PayPal

Many members use PayPal service as a means to make monetary transactions. This is fine, however you cannot ask for "gift payments" for items being sold. This is against PayPal's terms of service and such transactions on this forum will not be allowed.

considering the large amount of successful trades and transactions that take place here regularly i wouldnt say that there are alot of issues, the only thing is that the negative transactions seem to be the only ones posted about so it may seem to be otherwise. Im in favor of the itrader member review system, ive used in on other forums and its a great tool IMO but just like the "user/ member reviews" section here, its up to each user to submit a review and if users dont than the system doesnt work.

We already have classified guidelines as a sticky in the classified section here: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/class...e-posting.html

There's no way I'm going to force all users to use some kind of external websites for their sales. That would be a burden on both buyers & sellers, as well as moderators who would then be expected to enforce such a rule.

This x1000. We have nearly 3,000 classified ads and a lot of those ads are garage sale style where the user is selling multiple items in one thread. Naturally there will be a few hiccups along the way.

I'll look into setting up more of an eBay style feedback system.

I understand that, but the post you copy/pasted made membership of heatware a requirement to buy or sell anything.
