Default How to not answer questions

I'm new to this forum and searching for tips to fix a problem. The first thread I came across includes the following post from a Senior Member:

"Hmm, Fuel Pump would be the first thing I would check / replace.
the reason being; yadda, yadda, cold, yadda, management, yadda, fuel, yadda, yadda, warm, yadda, yadda, different, yadda.
HTH G/L"

Followed by:

"Holy Poo, if he is right you need to join a car club. . . . ."

This isn't a real good impression for a first-time visitor. Please remember that being Senior Member doesn't mean you're smarter than anyone else, it only means you've posted more comments. It doesn't do any good to post a comment that you wouldn't say to a customer's face if you worked at a reputable auto shop.

Here's to a forum as good as the Ranger.

Welcome to FRF, Hannah. I recall the post you're referring to, but not who said it. I don't think that should give you a bad impression about this forum. One smart remark should not reflect on the entire group. I'd like to think that nobody would answer you that way, being new here.
Stick around, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. This really is a good group of people. I'm not a moderator, but this forum hasn't really needed any moderation, and that says a lot about us. Enjoy!

I agree, I'm a member of several Ranger forums and FRF is by far is the best. I found the thread hannah posted about and the responses weren't necessary.

Treat everyone with respect regardless of their level of knowledge or experience. Share what you know but be open to other ideas and suggestions.

Welcome aboard hannah.

ya man, welcome the forum! everyone here is really nice and stuff, no one will get flamed or anything for asking a stupid question or be yelled at for not using the search function and all that stuff that happens on other sites all the time. just for comparison head on over to R/F and read the top bulletin message from zabeard.
