I must be out of touch. I don't care really, my wife and dog still like and put up with me. Usually.
Other than taking the usual good security measures for your own computing equipment, I'd suggest worrying much less about what's going on on your end, and much more concerned about what others are doing with your personal information, be it info that you voluntarily surrendered or someone else did it for you (probably via some fine print deep in an agreement that almost nobody ever reads). Like for example, Equifax, whose epic f*ck up will impact about 44% of Americans. Banks 'puters being hacked, PayPal hack, it never ends and for the most part, these people are getting away with little more than offering consumers one year of *free* credit monitoring.

*Must be nice being an exec at Equifax, when you learn of the hack back around July 29th, you can sell some of your stock before SHTF and the public knows about it five weeks later, and thus protect your wealth. IMO, each and every one of those guys need to be relocated to a gated community, one with razor wire on the top of the fences.

Speaking of awareness and phishing.. I wonder how many of you have read this information... Im sure this is the watered down version from what I am told and I'm pulling the source from wiki because It would likely get another red-flag.

"Total Information Awareness (TIA) was a program of the United States Information Awareness Office that began during the 2003 fiscal year. It operated under this title from February until May 2003, before being renamed as the Terrorism Information Awareness.[1][2]

Based on the concept of predictive policing, TIA aimed to gather detailed information about individuals in order to anticipate and prevent crimes before they are committed.[3] As part of efforts to win the War on Terror, the program searched for all sorts of personal information in the hunt for terrorists around the globe.[4] Admiral John Poindexter referred to it as a "Manhattan Project for Counter-Terrorism".[5] According to Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), TIA was the "biggest surveillance program in the history of the United States".[6]

The program was defunded alongside the Information Awareness Office in late 2003 by the United States Congress after media reports criticized the government for attempting to establish "Total Information Awareness" over all citizens.[7][8][9]

Although the program was formally suspended, its data mining software was later adopted by other government agencies, with only superficial changes being made. The core architecture of TIA continued development under the code name "Basketball." According to a 2012 New York Times article, the legacy of Total Information Awareness is "quietly thriving" at the National Security Agency (NSA).[10] "

"Total Information Awareness (TIA) was intended to be a five year long research project by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The goal was to integrate components from previous and brand new government intelligence and surveillance programs, including Genoa, Genoa II, Genisys, SSNA, EELD, WAE, TIDES, Communicator, HumanID and Bio-Surveillance with data mining knowledge gleamed from the private sector to create a resource for the intelligence, counterintelligence, and law enforcement communities.[11][12] These components consisted of information analysis, collaboration, decision-support tools, language translation, data-searching, pattern recognition, and privacy-protection technologies.[13]

TIA research included or planned to include the participation of nine government entities: INSCOM, NSA, DIA, CIA, CIFA, STRATCOM, SOCOM, JFCOM, JWAC.[13] These agencies were to be able to access TIA's programs through a series of dedicated nodes.[14] TIA's hardware was to be housed by INSCOM in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.[15]

Companies that were contracted to work on TIA included the Science Applications International Corporation,[16] Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Schafer Corporation, SRS Technologies, Adroit Systems, CACI Dynamic Systems, ASI Systems International, and Syntek Technologies.[17]

Universities enlisted to assist with research and development included Berkeley, Colorado State, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Cornell, Dallas, GeorgiaTech, Maryland, MIT, and Southampton.[17][18]"

Well here it is 2:30 ish in the morning my back and neck refuses to let me sleep any longer so I figured let me see if I missed something here when trying to log in with my PC.

All I get is the red screen that reads exactly as follows.

Deceptive site ahead

Attackers on www.fordrangerforum.com may trick you into doing something dangerous
Like installing software or revealing your personal information ( for example, passwords
Phone numbers, or credit cards). Learn more

Automatically send some system information and page content to google to help detect
Dangerous apps and sites privacy policy

Details. Back to safety

Once clicking on Details I get

Google safe Browsing recently detected phishing on www.fordrangerforum.com. Phishing
Sites pretend to be other websites to trick you.

You can report a detection problem or, if you understand the risk to your security, visit this unsafe site.

This means until either the site owner or moderators actually do something about this We will have to not only type the entire web address each time to log in we will also have to click on details then click on visit this unsafe site. Hmmmmm???

Thinking now,,,, calculating??? Pondering some ?...?..?

Still thinking please continue to hold for an important update............

OK I get it it now all the other jealous Ford Ranger Forums got together and paid some slime ball hacker to create fileshare72 redirect to cause us happy www.fordrangerforum.com memebers to jump ship and join them.

HMmmmmm?

Solution lets get the pitchforks, torches and axes and get them dirty bastards.

As it is now at least from my computer if you search for Ford Ranger Forums our website is no longer viewable in the search results when using a windows based PC.

I can find it in the search results if I type fordrangerforum

All of this just sounds like too much added hoops to jump through to get here.

For now I will try and contact some of the moderators and site owner if possible to see what if any action they will take.

If they do nothing to fix the issue the bad guys win.

Does anyone know of a browser that will allow us to get here directly using a saved link without the extra steps?

It may not sound like much to some of you but I have a new Laptop but it is not a top of the line PC with lots of memory so I have to frequently clear my browser history and cookies etc during the day.

I sent off a PM to the administrator and looked into the statistics of the moderators and super moderators it seems that all but one moderator have no obvious signs of activity for sometime.

It makes me wonder if this website really is www.fordrangerforum.com or is it really a deceptive site that is designed to steal our information eat our brains

OK OK it is way early in the morning and I already have had way too much coffee.

I will say it sucks trying to use this site now on my PC since I cannot see where on the page I placed my mouse until I start typing.

Not sure if stealing brains from this site would be a wise idea.

My brain was eaten away long before the Internet became the norm...I'm afraid the Net is mostly going away hungry if it's going after my brain.
