Just as I experienced in my Automotive Registration thread, NOT to open a old wound here but when people were more concerned with where I was geo-located at and arguing my sanity yet as I posted the actual law posted/written/given by the then State of California which backed up what I was stating as FACT and evidence of said FACTS.. I'm the one with two heads on my shoulders everyone thinks is bat shit crazy. Yeeesh!!
But a section where you know their may be heated debates. People are going to have to check their egos and understand that if you enter into a discussion, you may not know what you dont know, and you should rather than argue and debate like children. Spend the time to look up, verify, and make your consideration on what stance you want to take before having as someone stated.. Child like tantrums and knee jerk "Opinions".
Maybe its me but my thoughts are the reason why political debates go to the shit show is because there are so many validated and UN-validated opinions and because its nearly still Taboo to talk about politics, you cant get enough of the people to side on an issue one way or the other cause god forbid if we should all get on the same page, we might actually realize that we're getting screwed sideways in the ass and turn on the 6000+ people literally responsible for running this country and start hanging them a 100 at a time...
did I say that all out loud?

Having a political section has worked out well for a chainsaw forum I'm on and its pretty entertaining watching a bunch of members argue why they are right and the other guy is a jackhole, it also gives you more insight on what people are thinking.

Re: What happened to this place?
A chainsaw forum seems an appropriate place to argue modern day politics. I don't even own a chainsaw and I all of the sudden want to join.

Re: What happened to this place?
that's funny! Political talk in the chainsaw forum!
I'm in my 50's. I've been just right of center my entire adult life. About 10 years ago I started noticing the liberals really starting to get overzealous an out of control about the issues. the Trump victory then just put them over the top. I have also noticed that the millennials seem to be leading the way in this liberal civil war. they've lost it. I believe this behavior is fueled by the liberal media. the media wants this "Civil War". Talking politics with your friends and relatives has basically becoming the "new abortion topic". no one wants to bring it up. I think we should all just ignore the media and we can all go back to where it was 10 years ago. We disagreed but got along.

My issue is that no one can seem to even acknowledge other ideas, is willing to do any research or learn something new, and that their way is the only "correct" way. It's rampant on both sides.

Re: What happened to this place?
I think it's slowing down a bit. Probably facebook. Honestly though I can't stand viewing forum type things or having it be on facebook. I like the general forum look/layout. It's way easier to navigate, post/comment/link things..etc than facebook to me. On top of that I can't view FB at work... so anything related to FB/twitter/imugr I can't view. All the normal forums that I belong to online I can view from work which is key especially being at night and bored at times.

Well technically its call arboristsite.com. most of the debating and arguing stays civil. Its a little livelier there than it is here.

The FRF Facebook page should be nothing more than a vehicle used to bring traffic to the site.
It should maybe cater to a gallery, a tfew small important topics based upon regions, trail/road safety, maybe some links to vendor sales posts and group buys, and some contact info for supporting the SITE itself along with whatever FRF franchising can be had..
Thats IT, DONESKI !
Otherwise not only are you taking traffic away from your site (@admin) you're boosting FaceCrook numbers and increasing its traffic flow and algorithms.
I mean its a bit hearsay or maybe even a bit conspiracy minded but good god, EVEN IF the Government Alphabet gangs weren't using FB to monitor everything you do, where you go, where you spend your money, who you like or don't like, what products you support, what side of the political fence do you throw rocks at, tell people when and where you are traveling too.., etc.. etc BOY they should could find enough information on ANYONE and EVERYONE on that site for sure.
Not only does that site collect WAYYYYYYYyyyy too much data of its own it sells a lot of your information as well. Im sorry But I love my privacy for the most part. And living a mile away from "Switch", a huge data mining/storage company here in Las Vegas that has 3 six acre facilities with a fourth being built. I tell you what, go knock on the 18 ft sold door gate or just do a U turn in their driveways and watch how fast you get rolled up on at gun point.
I'm not talking Glocks and Ruger SR9's.. I am talking fully light armored Jeep Unlimited 4 doors rolling 8 deep with semi/possibly automatic rifles. Four guys inside, two hanging on side bars, and two hanging on back at times..
Just saying, there are groups and agencies out there with more concern for your private information and whereabouts at all times than you are or could be because its big money for them.
