There is still several people with the forum and it generally dies down a little in the Summer, with lots of odds and ends to do.

We can all blame it on unrulies, the weather, Dead platforms, market support, the fact some people grow up and trade the mud-slinging ranger for a Ford Flex, the wife sold the project truck, and even my dog at my laptop so I cant sign in to the site...

Its the people that make the site. It's not the platform or the manufacture as much as think because that still doesnt change how many of these trucks are all OVER the roads still driving the daily grinds for business, still tearing up the backroads, and still transporting our kids to the school yard.

Its lack of interest, the overall forum attitude, participation.. and probably that un-smiling character Dvrich and his particular sunny sided, sarcastic, Florida demeanor (lmao JK Happy ass). But seriously though. Its the atmosphere.. Its dry and old without any excitement. Hell the Mods arent even on really and no one dares throw a spit wad across the dank room... # lame

I run another RC-related forum and it's the same there. Time and life get in the way so to speak. I signed onto this forum a few years ago to find info for my project. Found what I needed and went on my merry way. Nothing wrong with that I suspect, since I wasn't looking for camaraderie. I'm back now for the same reason, but this time I enjoy the engagement a bit more -- even from the spitball throwing "ford4thot."

I agree, a few ne'er-do-wells were allowed to run the Asylum for a short while but overall it's mostly a numbers game. Less Rangers, end of production, etc equals less interest. I also think the ban on any political talk did some damage. TN is thriving and they allow political discussion.

Points made, but one of the busiest forums I visit is for honda cx500/cx650 motorcycles and there hasn't been a cx or variant made since 1983. It is owners and moderators and the decisions they make that shapes the popularity of any board period.

I agree on political discussions, they should be allowed but moderators should know when it is "out of hand" and step in.

this is so true. My local jeep club's forum activity DIED when the facebook page got created. Almost over night. and its only the very long timers who refuse to get facebook that actually show up to the forum, and usually just to create drama.

Yessss.. I believe Logan shut down my so called "Anti establishment" post about my arguments of Plate Registration and the laws perpetuating towards it that DON'T exist. I actually admired the amount of new people that PM'd me introducing themselves and positive reactions and remarks over it that I've never had a chance to really meet online or otherwise..

That was a fast moving post that sparked a lot of debate and talk.

Btw, 3 years, 1 month still registration free, still driving my truck

As a moderator on another forum, the last thing I want to do is sort through a bunch of posts from children who can't agree over stupid shit they have no control over. Political posts ALWAYS turn into shit shows, and with all of the commercial spamming and other bs that goes on, it's much easier to just ban political anything.

This. Basically exactly what will happen when my Ranger gets totaled or blows up. Except it won't be a Ford Flex. lol.

It's easier to have a dedicated political forum where you enter at your own risk.

Agreed.. I mean I get it, the biggest problem is people have a hard time accepting that other people for many other reasons simply dont agree with a perspective or view. MOST times its because many aren't informed on the subject matter and refuse to change, shift, or alter their precious paradigms in even as much as seeing the relevance through another perspective at all.

Just as I experienced in my Automotive Registration thread, NOT to open a old wound here but when people were more concerned with where I was geo-located at and arguing my sanity yet as I posted the actual law posted/written/given by the then State of California which backed up what I was stating as FACT and evidence of said FACTS.. I'm the one with two heads on my shoulders everyone thinks is bat shit crazy. Yeeesh!!

But a section where you know their may be heated debates. People are going to have to check their egos and understand that if you enter into a discussion, you may not know what you dont know, and you should rather than argue and debate like children. Spend the time to look up, verify, and make your consideration on what stance you want to take before having as someone stated.. Child like tantrums and knee jerk "Opinions".

Maybe its me but my thoughts are the reason why political debates go to the shit show is because there are so many validated and UN-validated opinions and because its nearly still Taboo to talk about politics, you cant get enough of the people to side on an issue one way or the other cause god forbid if we should all get on the same page, we might actually realize that we're getting screwed sideways in the ass and turn on the 6000+ people literally responsible for running this country and start hanging them a 100 at a time...

did I say that all out loud?

Dammmnnnit...
