Question Logging on from an older computer

My computer crashed and I'm using an older spare machine running vista

Tried logging in here but avast antivirus is telling me there is a threat detected and blocks the page

Posting this from my iPhone and I really, really hate mobile browsing on this thing

Anyone offer any advice on how I can login on this old machine ?

I would look into "whitelisting" or approving this website page from within Avast itself....

I'm not familiar with Avast - but I'm sure there are ways to allow certain "known good" sites.

Thanks Logan, will try and will update if that fixes it.

This sucks not sure what to do? i'm not very computer literate and I can't find a white list section in the antivirus program I have so I guess I'll just pop in from time to time on the mobile see what's going on here

Not going to chance wrecking this computer, then I'll be stuck mobile browsing and that's not gonna happen

Edit I can't see the picture I posted in this thread but I uploaded it to my albums in the old Whitey album

On that front - you simply inserted the picture incorrectly.

You have the following typed between the [IMG][/IMG] tags (without the quotes): "http://http://www.fordrangerforum.com/members/markous/albums/old-whitey/83432-img-1038-a.jpg"

Note the double "http://" portion on the front. That's the trouble maker.

If you were to insert the following between the [IMG][/IMG] tags the image will appear (without the quotes): "http://www.fordrangerforum.com/members/markous/albums/old-whitey/83432-img-1038-a.jpg"

Example:

Just another example of why I hate this mobile browsing, couldn't get the full BB code to copy and paste so I tried just copying the image location from my album and pasting it into the thread.

Still getting a script warning threat when I use my computer to try and browse FRF.

Anyone else?

I'm using Avast anti virus.

Can't afford to wreck the spare computer as it was the only one

Posting from my 6+ with no issues

I'm using an old computer that I put Linux on. It also has Windows Vista with Avast. No problems Browsing here. No pop up warning me. i use Firefox browser. I also use OpenDNS.( https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us ) IE is yuck. You may be getting spoofed or Avast is just trying to sell you something. Make sure all your software is updated(very important!)and check your security in the browser settings. Clear your history and cache files. There's a good program called WiseDiskCleaner,( http://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html ), that I use on my Windows Partition to keep it (c)lean. Basic version is free and easy to use.
