Re: What is causing this? How should I fix it?

How to fix properly? get rid of that useless unsafe lift and run it at the stock ride height.

You will be tearing up u-joints quickly with that setup.

Re: I need your opnion please

Dealing with rust is a loosing battle. I would definitely stay away from the 2001 automatic with rust.

I get about 16-18 mpg with my 4.0 2wd 5 speed. I do have a heavy foot to enjoy my custom loud...

Re: Need brand suggestions

I have Richmond in the racecar. Best value IMO for 9 inch gears. 3 years on that ring and pinion ans so far so good. It's only 355 hp and 390 torque.

Don't have any experience with 8.8s...

Re: Engine Swap

it depends on how much of the wiring harness and computer you will have to change over. 96 - 00? Probably everything and that is a lot of work...

Re: Air pressure monitor in the wheels

Didn't realize Rangers had that type. We did my dad's 2010 F-250 for about $60 total including the programming tool and it took just a few minutes. But it has the type that go in the valve stem...

Re: Air pressure monitor in the wheels

It is possible to remove it from the computer but it would require someone with the ability to completely re-program the ecu. There are lots of software packages for GM LS based engines, and also...

Re: swapping 93 engine to 98 body

You will have to keep the entire wiring harness and ecu with the corresponding engine which is a lot of work. I would think it would be less work to get a good running 98 engine and then it's a drop...

Re: Front bumper alignment

No guarantee the new bumper is perfectly straight. From that pic it looks like it needs a little tweak up on this side. But I can't tell...

Is it a FoMoCo bumper? Or aftermarket?

Re: Anyone know when you're supposed to replace your coil?

Like a lot of electronics, they work perfect till they decide to stop completely. Usually don't give any notice. I wouldn't worry about it, just drive it.

Plugs and wires, yea they need changed as...

Re: Rear axle not centered in wheel well

Get rid of that shady lift and put it back to stock. It should fix it and make it safer to drive.

Re: Best rotors for my ranger?

Keep the brake dust washed out of the holes and slots. Otherwise they are about the same as regular rotors.

Re: Potential 94 4x4 purchase- what to look for?

Typical rust in cab corners, bed sides, frame, shackle mounts, inside bottom of doors, etc. Also test the blend door.

Re: Best rotors for my ranger?

Ceramic pads tear up rotors. Drilled and slotted do help with cooling if you keep them washed out, but if you know how to not heat up your brakes, then not all that necessary.

Re: Frame swap

^^ That's why I learned to drive a 2wd. I can run with most 4x4s around here in the snow. When they learn what mine is, they have to crawl under to believe me. 4x4 is a myth!

Re: Frame swap

I wouldn't think it'd be too bad if you have the garage, ability to lift the heavy components (cab, engine, etc), and tools. Of course, you need the exact same frame but there should be a range of...

Re: Rear axle off center. Anyone know what causes this and how to fix?

My dads 2010 F250 that we tow with a lot, the entire body is a little over a half inch off center from the frame. Tape measure confirms it. Seems it was built that way. It's not uncommon for that to...

Re: What battery are you guys running?

I'm not sure about AZ heat but it might be worse than here in WV. We usually see several days around 100 and several days near 0. It seems more people around here have starting issues in winter time....

Re: What battery are you guys running?

Yes. Have one of the mexicans in the racecar. Seems just fine so far. Others have trouble with vibrations. I have had the battery cables vibrate loose but nothing wrong with the battery.

Re: What battery are you guys running?

Optima red top. Have one in almost everything I own and won't think twice about it. My alternator went out once and I drove home once over 100 miles with the radio and a/c on. Still started the...

Re: Vibration

Still could be tires. I've had brand new tires professionally balanced and they shook. Took them back and had them re-do the balance and fixed it. Worth looking into.
