A high torque starter is absolutely needed for the massive horsepower 2.3. It's hard to keep score on your truck.

Feel the passenger side floor and if hot, the cat converter is clogged. Spray off the MAF sensor.
If these two check out then pull the codes at an auto parts store.

A Honda Civic will get you great gas mileage and every auto zone has plenty of parts to rice it up. If you get 23 mpg with a dodge hemi then why buy a Ranger that will only improve mpg by 3-4. Not...

Did you actually read his post genius? Bad pressure sending units don't cause valve noise and oil smoke. Sounds like a bad oil pump and the engine is damaged.

The F150 stock V6 3.5 and 3.3 plus the ecoboost kick the Tacoma's ass in fuel economy whether it has the 4 or 6 cylinder.
