Re: Body Lifts

Believe me, I know how it feels to build on a budget. Most of the work that I’ve done to my current ranger has been on a college kids income. But, half assing some things (like lift kits) can cost...

Re: Body Lifts

If you say so.... haha.

It’s your truck to do with as you wish. If you feel that stacked blocks and keys are the way to go, then by all means, have at her. Those products obviously do the...

Re: Body Lifts

If you have torsion bars, then you also have a factory 2.5” lift block in the rear. If the “lift” kit you’re looking at comes with lift blocks, run away. Stacked blocks are bad news. Shackles are a...

Re: Body Lifts

Nothing wrong with ballin on a budget, but I would make a couple changes to your plan, if it were me.

1. Don’t buy aftermarket torsion keys. They are a waste of money and allow you to do more harm...

Re: Body Lifts

It really comes down to what you want to do with the truck and what your budget is. If you just like the look of a lifted truck or want to do some light trail riding, and are on a budget, then...

regearing question

Your speedometer and odometer are off by the percent difference between you stock tire and your current tire overall diameter.

Depending on your engine size and gear ratio (found on door rage or...

Re: jimmyspy's '02 4x4

Semi-annual update time.

Haven’t done a whole lot to the truck “upgrade wise”. I did paint the new to me passenger side extended cab door and got it on the truck. The old one was rotted out and...

Re: driveshaft compatability

They are not. 4wd has a built-in slip joint and 2wd slides in and out of the transmission tail housing (lengths are also different)

You’ll need to find the same driveshaft you currently have...

Re: jimmyspy's '02 4x4

Thanks! I’m pretty happy with the bumper. Took way more time than I expected, but it’s exactly what I wanted.

Re: jimmyspy's '02 4x4

Thanks! I’m awful at stopping and taking pictures, but there were a few jeeple that are into photography, so there were plenty of pauses for photo ops. Haha.

Re: jimmyspy's '02 4x4

Time for a much over due update. In the past couple months, I finished up the rear bumper, replaced the power steering pump/rack, and went on another four wheeling trip to Wellsville OH.

Re: lift for 2011 4x4 supercab

Copy and paste time

Your lift options are pretty limited for the 1998 and up 4x4 Rangers. You’ve basically got 3 choices.

-adjust your torsion bars using your STOCK torsion keys (don’t...

Re: Helping my son buy his first Ranger

No problem.

You can buy the bodylift with bumper brackets that lift the bumper up 3” to match the body. You’ll either have to modify the front tow hooks, get rid of them, or cut the front...

Re: Helping my son buy his first Ranger

Your only lift options for the torsion bar 4wds are adjusting the torsion bars, the 4” superlift drop bracket kit, or a 3” body lift.

I’ve never personally installed a body lift, but the process...

Re: 01 Edge T-Bar upgrade from “B” to “1”

Yep. The torsion bars themselves never changed in design (other than the spring rates). The torsion keys, however, did change in 2008.

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

You do bring up a good pint with the torsion bar drop brackets. They are the biggest draw back (other than price) to the superlift kit, and really hurt the break-over clearance (although it’s still...

Re: Lift kit recommendations for a 2002 ranger edge plus 4x4 3.0

No problem! The superlift install is pretty involved, as the front suspension and axel need to be removed from the truck. But, the kits instructions are great and it’s definitely doable. I did...
