sounds like a fun project! you'll definitely want to get a stronger trans than the one that came with the 4cyl ranger. you could find either an M5od-r2 or a t5, both are common. here's a good read...

after you buy a tuner, it'll be a while before you break even, say if you got +1 mpg out of it. i think sct tuners are like $400 for the MAP priced ones. probably be around 100,000 miles before its...

I would have assumed a crank sensor malfunction would mean the computer won't open the injectors, so no fuel & no start... but I'd love to hear more myself!

lol reportedly they estimated that each firey death lawsuit would be like 1-2 hundred thousand... but i believe the first suit reemed then for over a million best i recall. ouch!

oh! when pulling the intake, give the egr bolts a GOOd & LONG soaking with penetrating oil. i believe that's where I wasted the most time lol

No problem! By the way, that little subsystem was a problem from the get go, evidently bad enough that they did away with it in later year models. Might be worth a few Google searches to see what...

clean the drums really really really well and look for a hairline crack. On my wife's car, there was a clicking noise just like you described, it was a crack that developed between the hub surface...
