No worries I have IFS and it was stupid easy to drop the diff. The hardest part is you have to separate one of the steering knuckles to pull a cv shaft. Once you have one side out then it is three...

I need to call spicer about the preload for an original bearing the only spec I have found in writing so far was for a dana 44 (10-20 in lbs).
For new bearings on a dana 35 it is 15-35 in lbs for...

They are the same thing...
"Posi" traction is a Chevy/gm brand name for their LSD (limited slip differential)
Ford has "trac-lok" LSD

Yeah it would be WAY easier if the diff had the yoke on it when I pulled it...havin a ford ain't easy!
The 470 ft lbs is from the dana/spicer service manual. The actual spec says 250-470 ft/lbs...

By process of elimination...
No play in either cv shaft
In 4wd no clunk when backing and turning
Cv boots both in good condition on both sides...
Probably not a cv shaft
No play in the...

Finally got them off....went with a bigger breaker bar. Only problem is I still have the grinding noise in the front end. It's there going straight and turning right. Goes away when I turn left and...

Did both upper and lower control arms and added rancho shocks on my truck (drivers side yesterday and passenger side today). What a pain in the keister! I still have a bad wheel bearing that I need...
