Need help!

ok. so im a new tech with little diagnostic experience. this is on my 87 ranger 2.9l regular cab long box.
order of events:
parked friday night. everything ok
saturday went to drive and no fuel...

if you overhaul stay prity much stock and maybe get a higher output oil pump. steel pistons and moly rings. the ranger 2.9 is a work horse and will put up to abuse but dont overheat it or run it dry....

IAC or timeing. see if your distributor is loose. if it wiggles is could throw off timeing so bad that it wont even fire (even close to the right time). there is procedures for IAC in ford survice...

listen for the fuel pump when key is turned on if you hear it running check the fuel filter. pull it out and blow through it if you can blow through it its ok if it is like blowing in a pop bottle it...

as for replaceing things you actually have a chance of things working wrong when you replace things like that. and as far as intervals its a fix it when it breaks thing. my 87 ranger has 260k miles...

odds are just a head gasket. but check for deck warpage and if it varies more then .003 inch you may want the head machined. remember to check the intake surfaces too
