Re: Which One Of These Wheels Would Look Best?

Of the three shown, I like the 1st one. Personally, I would like to see more beefier spokes on my wheels.

Re: What to look for when buying 93-94 Rangers?

I had a 1996 Mazda 3.0L RWD. Definitely check out the rust especially the backside of the rear wheels, tailgate and under the cab.

For $1500, you should get a slightly newer Ranger model...96-98...

Re: Help selecting tire.

I had a set of BFG AT KO on my B3000 4x2. They were only okay in snow, but poor to very poor on ice. Had 6 to 8 feet of snow to deal with each winter in northern BC interior. After a couples of years...

Re: Snow tire questions regarding 2001 Ford Ranger Edge 2x4

BFG All Terrain T/A KO are not that good in the snow and very poor on ice....IMO, it doesn't deserve a mountain snowflake symbol. After 2 seasons of getting stuck, I went with a set of cheap Arctic...

Re: 14inch Winter tires and rims on 2002 Ranger

Not sure if the 14 inch rims will even fit on a 2002? Tirerack doesn't mention that 14 inch rims are optional on the 2002....they usually say so in the winter package links.

If they do fit, your...

Re: 1996 mazda B4000 SE

What size is the stock tire? I had a 1996 Mazda B3000 SE 4x2 with 225/70-14 as stock...hard to find size....went with 27's to stay close to stock. Would have been nice if the tires were 15...

Re: Winter Tires

IMO, the General Altimax Arctics are hard to beat in the best bang for the buck category for winter tires. Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 are a close second. If you do more highway driving, I think that...

Re: Wheel-Tire change expectations

245/75-16 is a common size for newer Rangers that want to stay close to stock. 255/70-16 is the stock tire size for my 4x4.

I use my stock tires/wheels with TPMS in the spring/summer/fall. A set...

Re: help me choose

Probably not that noticeable on a truck....on a car, yes....on a truck, probably not.

Probably slightly worst gas mileage....depends on your previous tire. I have noticed worst gas mileage just in...

Re: help me choose

235/75-15 are +5.4% larger than 225/70-15. Your speedo and odo will be off accordingly.

Re: Tire sizes and specs

I'm a couple of hours west of you. IMO, you should get a set of dedicated winter tires. 245/75-16 or 255/70-16 would fit your truck if 255/70-16 stock like mine. 245/75-16 is slightly bigger than...

Re: Great handling all weather tires (especially snow) recommendations?

Have you tried adding a couple of sandbags over the rear axle? I added two 40-50 pound sand bags to my 1996 RWD Mazda truck year round and no more fishtailing in the wet.

Re: grabber at2's in the winter

Probably not good.

I had a set of BFG AT T/A KO on my 1996 Mazda 4x2 and it sucked bad in the winter....wanted to use the BFG year round since my Goodyear Wrangler AT/S were being replaced. Fair...

Re: winter tires

BFG AT T/A KO are also rated for severe weather (mountain snowflake)....after driving them over 2 winters, they are at the bottom end of the most winter tires. Even a cheap set of studded winter...

Re: winter tires

I had a set of BFG AT T/A KO on my 1996 Mazda 4x2 (bought them hoping that I could use them year round...I was wrong)....fair to good in snow, but poor on ice. Got stuck 10 times one winter. Then got...

Re: 2012 fx4 wheels on 2006 sport

Disc brakes become stock with 2010 and 2011. FX4 has been available with both model years in Canada....basically a Sport 4x4 with power, chair type seats, etc.

Re: Tire size difference for winter tires

Probably in the last 1-2 years.

The two layers was the major criticism of the Blizzaks by their customers.

Edit: Maybe what I heard was only a rumour....here's a link:...

Re: Tire size difference for winter tires

I thought that Bridgestone changed the tire compound so that there is only one multicellular compound...not 55%/45% multicellular/all-season split as in previous Blizzaks?

They are on my shortlist once my General Altimax Arctics give out. The studs on the Generals are noisy on dry and wet roads....awesome when it's snowy or icey. Prices on the DM-V1 have dropped this...

Re: Toyo Open Country tires on a 2010 Ranger 4 wheel drive

If you are finding the back fishtailing at times, put a couple of sand bags over the rear axle. I did that when I lived in the North Coast of BC where it rained 8 feet in an average year. My tires...
