Re: Cracked Coil - Is this a stock bushing?

Another follow up - SPACERS ARE THE WORST. After realizing the spacer was causing the coil to buckle (and bend into the sway bar link) and realizing both the front spacer and rear block already...

Re: Cracked Coil - Is this a stock bushing?

I ordered from Rock Auto. Part ACDELCO 45H1081 {#88913614} which is for the 125" wheelbase extended cab, which is what my truck is. So it should be same spec as OEM, i mean, it sure as heck looks the...

Re: Cracked Coil - Is this a stock bushing?

I thought that too when installing it, but the driver's side appears to be seated properly. The passenger side rotated a bit when I snugged the coil isolator nut/washer, but it's not very much and...

Re: Cracked Coil - Is this a stock bushing?

I had taken a couple drive already by that point with the windows down listening for noises and was driving over bumps. This morning was a different story however. Definitely heard it hit going...

I'm having a hard time imagining how the spacer would cause this. In addition, it's hard to say whether this impacts drive quality...

Re: Cracked Coil - Is this a stock bushing?

I just wanted to follow up with this thread. After I rented a coil compressor and started to pull things apart, it turns out the coil didn't fail, the urethane spacer did. It crushed and buried most...

Re: Cracked Coil - Is this a stock bushing?

Thanks, Tyler! I don't mind having 1-2" of lift as I'm eventually going to put 15x7 wheels/larger tires on it. The current clearance seemed unusual, so thanks for clarifying the mods.

The last...

Cracked Coil Spacer - Help

Hi all, I appear to have a cracked front coil on the driver's side, and in general it's probably time to replace the coils and the shocks in the front of my '97 Ranger (for full clarity, it's a 2wd...

Re: Blend door or Actuator Problem

Woohoo! So here's a tip: Let the heater core warm up a bit before trying to install the new door.

It's been in the low 40's here and so before I decided to do anything destructive I drove around...

Re: Blend door or Actuator Problem

@stedman - got a kit from Dorman's. The top piece is all metal. I saved the cut out piece and was planning on gluing/taping.

Re: Blend door or Actuator Problem

So I cut a hole in the bottom after buying a dremel tool, which took all of 60 seconds. That was fairly easy. However my door had the notorious "half break" which mean it didn't just drop out. I had...

Re: Blend door or Actuator Problem

I have a '97 Ranger that is currently blowing full HEAT and won't lower. I think it is a blend door problem but before I cut open the housing I want to be sure.

- All the fan speeds work
- I...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread III

Installed a used canopy/electrical, it looks like x-mas, but fack-it, it was cheap!

Re: Snugtop Camper 3rd Brake Light

Not trying to resurrect a super old thread, but I do want to add some answers to what I haven't been able to find until I just did it today.

I've got a 1997 Ranger XLT, 2wd 3.0, ymmv. I bought a...

Re: Camping/Trail Build: Widebeam Mounting, Lifting, Big Tires

tcblaklash, you and I have similar goals and similar trucks. Mine's a '97 3.0 XLT. I am not looking to do mudding, and mostly just looking to stay safe/solid on most BLM roads and wet campgrounds....
