Bigger tires = more weight wich is harder to turn. wide tires = more air resistance at higher speeds which make the motor strain more..a 35 inch tire that weighs 30lbs and a 35 that weighs...

OK yes this will be a toy on the streets sometimes . guys run 32x11.50 with 4:10 and get around 20mpg with the 2.3l but 35x10.50 do weight a little more so 4.56 would work BTW 33x12.50 weight the...

OK for a 2wd 4cyl and with a locker what would be the best like narrow 35s or 37 or like 33x14s my thinking is with the 4cyl the narrow tires will have less resistance to push through but will go...

2002 4.0 4x4 with 32 inch 9 ply mud tires but really it didn't get much better before the mud tires

I almost guarantee a lifted 4 cyl will get better mpg than 12-16 like my 4.0 but thanks for trying to bash on me anyway

OK lol once again a 2wd 4 cyl and a regular cab and that looks different also I would like to see there set up like amount of lift and all that..but anyway just ignore it has anyone put 35s on a 4...

True that's why this truck will only get took out 2 to 3 times a week possibly putting 4.56 gears

Exactly the 2.3 makes about 135hp at 3500rpm the 4.0 makes 207 at the same rpm if I'm not mistaken..
Also the duratec probably makes more and geared properly it should have enough low end to spin...

Lol I have to get another truck anyway my extended cab 4.0 is going to be my work truck but yeah I doubt a 33 tire on a 2.3 duratec with the right gears will get as bad as y'all are anticipating but...

I agree with you I am excepting my mpg dropping from 25+ to 18 or so but 15 is a bit low and if it is so hard to keep mpg I want 2wdmuddin to post how he still gets 20mpg with 32s on a 2.3

I have a 4.0 now and I avg maybe 15 if I can avg 20 on my play truck you damn right I'll take the 4 cyl...but what's the difference with a duratec
