Daughter's first real job, welcome reality

Just got her first "real" job as she describes it. Little does she understand that going out and getting new lawn mowing customers and building the list and satisfying them was her first "real" job....

Re: Best year 4cyl for highway commuting

Picked up an 09 ranger last December for 3200. 167K miles. 4 banger 5 speed. Runs 70-80 mph no problem, but only gets around 17mpg. If I keep it at 60 mileage goes up to 27-28mpg. Running at 50-55 it...

Re: The cause of many deaths

The sad thing is that they don't know they are statists. Tips on how to get away with 5 years on the road unregistered? Gotta have a plate where I live. Been pulled over just for expired tabs, so how...

Re: 2019 ranger on a car chassis?

Like others here, I too, worked as a car salesman, albeit for a very brief time. Was #1 for 3 months, and the deal that pissed me off was when a totally bombed person came in looking to trade his...

Re: The cause of many deaths

The moral of the story is DON'T MESS WITH THE POLICE IN NEVADA. Yes Sir, No Sir. Keep your hands in sight, no sudden moves. Speak respectfully. Sounds like good advice my grandma would have given me....

Re: New member, been lurking.

Had an RX3 back in the early 80's, and graduated to an 85 RX7 in 1985. That was a very good car, the RX3 not so good. Never modded the RX7 as I really liked it the way it came from the factory, and...

Re: F150 is really big

I can see the new Ranger suffer from initial sales euphoria and dropping off again. The only thing that will keep it in demand is a significant price difference from the F150. Gas mileage on my 09 is...

F150 is really big

Parked next to an F150 today and noticed how really big those things are. Twice the size of the 09 Ranger. I hope the new Ranger is more like the 09 Ranger than the F150.

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator

I don't get the high priced models. The thing is a truck. It hauls stuff and gets dirty inside and out. Seats get ripped, headliners poked and punctured. I know most of my friends that have the...

Re: Source for Rubber bed mat

My brother in law has a heavy mat in the bed of his truck and the bed is rusting out due to water getting trapped under it. Lives in Michigan and power washes the truck during the winter at the diy...

Re: New to the forum

Komac, good to have you here. Last December I picked up my first Ranger, and it seems it is much like yours. A basic 2.3 liter 5 speed work truck. Not the best on fuel, however it gets used to haul...

Re: Ford Focus Small Truck

I had a Courier and it was perfect for my needs at that time. Today I have an 09 Ranger and it is the correct size for my needs at this time. Perhaps in the future I will not need the bed size of my...

Re: Greetings from MO

I can only hope for that kind of durability! Most equipment when used properly and cared for diligently will outlast it's owners will to keep it. Keep on truckin'!

Re: Ridiculous dealer offer for my 06 Ranger Sport

I think you mean "stealers". Sold Chevy's once right out of school. Learned the tricks of the trade and walked away a wiser man.

Re: another new guy needing help

That is weird, however it sounds like a slave cylinder issue. Talk to a mechanic about it. Prefer an older mech that has been around the block a few times. Experience pays dividends.

Re: Should I Buy This Ranger?

Old is old. Buy at a price in accordance with the age of the vehicle. Mileage is not something I consider valuable, and it won't entice me to pay a premium. Age of the vehicle is something that I...

Re: Painting Cost

A friend of mine is retired from the body biz and he agrees that 5k is the start point for a pro level repaint. High quality work and materials is expensive. Of course his biz was all top end stuff,...

Re: Get better mpg with A/T tires

Drive like a blind granny. That is what I have had to do. Went from 17mpg to 25-28 mpg. 4 banger with manual trans and stock wheels.

Re: Water Pump

Highly unlikely it was damaged with a coolant system flush and fill. Just a coincidence is my bet. Never had luck with rebuilt pumps and alts. Costs a heck of a lot more to go OEM, however they last...

dvrich, you are right about that. The Ranger of old is the last of them. Can't understand why small pickups are no longer as popular as they were. I find mine very useful and convenient. Much...

Re: Other ranger forums

Facebook will be losing me soon. Every website I go to looking for goods shows up on my news feed as an add after I visit the website. Don't want them knowing anymore about what I do.
